Alright I rarely post on the boards and my stories are months behind schedule. I have had a recent question rise to the forefront of my mind. You see I consider myself a well rounded writer. aside from my stories here I write normal fiction, poems, scripts, and all that jazz. The odd thing is that I never list the stories here among my skills. I think it is very hard to write a convincing love scene, let alone a good one so there is nothing to be ashamed of. Maybe I am just too shy, there's a thought a guy whose user name mean That one guy is shy.
So in a round about way I am trying to ask this. If in fact you do write fiction outside of the category of erotic do you care if fans of your non-erotic fiction were to find out about it?

Yes, if I did get some non-erotic published, I would care. Erotica has a stigma and no matter how good my non-erotic is, it'd be judged on the fact that I write erotica.

What he said

An actress aspiring to a starring role in a Broadway show or a movie would probably not mention that she blew a few big ones on film. Especially if she used a name like "Deep Throad Dee" or "Coal Chute Carolyn."

Deep Throat Dee is on Broadway, now?!!!!
;)

:p Maybe I am an idiot, but I do write using my real name.

If I get challenged about my erotic stories I say yes that is me. Don't forget we have a lot of famous forerunners - the poet, Appolonaire; Picasso; Titian; Titian's patron Arretino none of whom were afraid of appending their name to their work. For us it should be easier, stars like Madonna have made erotica chic.

A few months ago the Housing Association - my landlords sent a gas fitter around. He looked at my name and said to me, "Do you write on Literotica?" When I replied, "Yes." He told me that he enjoyed my stories especially The Car.

That was a real ego boost that would not have happened if I were not upfront about my work.

That is brilliant. I wish I had the bravery to use my real name. But face to face praise I can relate to being a sometime amateur actor and there is nothing in the world like applause.

Keep it up Jon ( and the writing too)
