Unknown Author Story

I saved story on disk several years ago from a site that is now gone. There is no author's name. It is a smoking hot story and I hate to see it lost. I would like to simply submit it as an "author unknown story" Will that fly on this site??

Not on this site or anywhere else that heeds copyright law. Copyright attached to the story when its author wrote it, and was reinforced when it was published. Only the author, or whomever the author may/may not have assigned that copyright, can authorize its republication. That's black letter law.
