Unique Titles

Okay, so I couldn’t use the search. Is there a way to search for stories with a title “My First Time”, exactly that, and nothing more? I just wondered what could be a common story title, and that was what I came up with.

Put quotes around "my first time". That will show only stories with those three words in the title - 278 pages!

If you use advanced search and specify titles only - 8 pages.

If you go into the search function https://search.literotica.com/ and click the little gear icon there to go into the advanced search features, you can narrow down your search parameters.

EDIT: Sorry, Ogg! Didn't know you were on the case. :D

Okay, thanks! Still, that’s a lot.

Yeah, yeah, I know — "get off of your soap box, THROBBS"

"but, I'm up here already.":D

It would be nice, if in the Erotic Art Hub, there was a search function.
Even when one brings up the list, you cannot click on the alphabet to jump to the "M" section, for example. It is simply the list, "sorted" alpha-numerically, with special characters first — "Aadvark's adventure" would be first (WITH the quotations)... or "0-10 is how I rate them" would be before that.

Once that became apparent, some folk would name their work accordingly, to at least be on the first page. edit: I mean the TOP of the list—*it is one page that you can s-c-r-o-l-l down.

I was hoping that maybe the https://search.literotica.com/ might include images, but nope.

So, as far as naming (for Erotic Art) goes, I think that having something unique and descriptive makes sense, along with the short description. There are no categories and the tags don't help either.

I didn't realize that the Site doesn't have a search page dedicated to art just like it does for stories and poems.

What you can do is, via the art hub page, pull up a complete list of all illustrations. Then click control + F and you can search for a specific title to see if it's been used.

It doesn't seem to matter and the readers don't care whether a title is unique or has been used many times.

True, but a unique title might make it easier for a reader to find your story again.

I typically do a quick search to see if my title is unique. I have an incest naked-with-sister story pending that I titled "Naked with My Sister Tilly" - Tilly because I wanted the title to be unique.

At least any title you use will be unique within your personal catalog, so maybe it's not that important after all?

I think uniqueness would only have very minimal impact on the ability of a reader to find a story. Assuming a reader did a search for a common story title, the reader would have a list of the stories with that name. The list probably would not be long enough, even if common, to deter a reader from scanning the list quickly to identify the correct story.

For practical purposes of connecting with readers, I think the most important qualities in a title are to be:

a) memorable
b) titillating, and
c) descriptive or suggestive of the erotic content of the story.

I try for catchy rather than unique, altho I don’t mind if I score on unique as well. I suspect if you tried for unique every time it’d end up sounding forced.

I'm continually surprised by how often titles that pop into my head to use don't appear to be used before--even one- and two-word titles.
