I haven't seen a doctor in months at my VA clinic. The one who saw me for several years quit months ago, and hasn't yet been replaced. I've been given no explanation why. I've just been told it may be several more months before another MD can be hired. In the meantime I've been seen by a nurse practitioner. Nothing against her, she seems fine, but I wonder why the VA can't hire another MD in a timely manner.

In fairness, some, maybe most, VA employees seem like they try to do a good job. It's the federal government itself that can't seem to get its act together.

Because they can't get the funding.....it's being sucked up by congress critters n' contractors.

Mine won't even pull shrapnel out of my ass....like won't spare the local and 20 min, it's not going to kill me, it will eventually work it's way out, so fuck me.

Seriously, I drove all the way to Sacramento like 4+ hrs south for them to tell me that shit. So yea I pretty much just don't go or deal with the VA anymore...fuck em.
