Unfulfilled plot bunnies, maybe?

I'm ruthless as an editor of my own work. If it doesn't make it into the story because it got cut in a re-write or an edit, it's gone. I've almost never gone back and picked up something I set aside. Since I write erotic fiction primarily for fun and to decompress, I've just never found any value in keeping things I discarded.

Now, in a draft of story, since I write in Word, I use strike through and comments a lot in the draft, because something might need to come back to life in the final draft.

When I thought I might die soon, I posted my incomplete stories on Lit so that others could use them.

Trouble is, I survived and I nearly have as many incomplete stories I had then...

Hahaha. Awesome, bro.

Keep on keepin' on and congratulations, mate.

I've got so much unfinished crap - gobs and gobs and gobs of it - that I can't possibly think to reuse some piece of something and insert it into another thing (again, no pun intended).

I'm just incredibly undisciplined when it comes to closing the loop.

I fry out and then I've (potentially) lost the tenor. Or some other "brilliant" idea overtakes it and I'm onto something else.

I'm not ADD at all. I hone in quite well. Nor am I all that promiscuous. When I land on something then that's what it has become all about. But with the writing? It's not even a confidence thing. If I started it then it needed to be finished and I know that. But I've got heaps of this stuff. Enough to feed all of Utah (those impossibly hidden and hypocritical fuckers; no offense Utah).

I just... fuckin let it fall away.

Sometimes I can hear them, the characters I've shoved under a drawer or deeper behind the rest in my harddrive, "I was fucking counting on you!!" And that's a bit of a bummer. But. You know. Can't please 'em all.

To get back at your point though?

I would recommend you determine for yourself what ought to be shelved temporarily or deleted completely. You'll know. Or, at least you will know what needs to be kicked off into nothingness for the purpose of something else that has a better hope.

The rest? Let it hang in there.
