I'll give it a shot...

Some years back, I was in a very dark place. My husband had died recently and there were other things adding to my troubles. Whenever I would talk to friends or relatives, they would all feel so sorry for me, it was sickening. They meant well, but it felt oppressing. Then one day, I ran into an old friend online. We had quite a history from online interactions but had grown apart and hadn't seen each other for a long time.

She asked the usual questions and found out about my situation. But instead of focusing on that, she just started sharing things from her life. Drawing me in to her world again, not focusing on me.
