Sarah Rekeita nervously sipped her coffee as she was waiting for her superiors to debrief her on this afternoons incident. The young rookie tapped the rim of her nails rhythmically on the metal table, adrenaline still coursing through her veins. As the door swung open she startled a little but quickly she settled down as her captain and two feds entered the Room.
"As stated previously, this young lady should get a commendation for her actions this afternoon." The eldest of the feds said, the look her captain was giving him it seemed he wasn't buying it. "Few survive an encounter with these crooks, let alone arrest one alive."
Sarah blushed a little at the compliment but not because of a sense of humbleness, but because what the fed said was pure fiction. Yes she had caught the man, but it was only because when he reached for his papers, she had mistaken the handle of a screwdriver that was in the man's glove compartment for a gun, and she had tazered him.
Before she could freak out, a car pulled up on the scene and the two Fed's who were tailing the man, explained to her who he was and planted a gun and drugs in the car to make it look like a legitimate use of force. They promised that if she kept her mouth shut, they would make sure that she would become the youngest female detective to date.
"Worst case scenario, she has taken a violent and ruthless criminal off the streets. Best case, we manage to flip him and send one of our own into their organisation." The younger Fed said. At those words Sarah tried to quash the guilty feeling she was experiencing in her gut. Trying to convince herself that while what she did was wrong a lot of good could come out of it.
