OK....I was reading today's submissions and came across Virgin Threesome in which the ages of the participants were 13, 14 and 15.

I was under the impression that 18 was the lower limit?

(And I already PM'd Laurel about this, so please don't fill her PM box telling her.....)

Ummm....

I just read it, and I don't what the deal is. Maybe it's because all the participants are underage. i don't think it's so bad a thing, since there's no adult around. It's a "coming of age" sort of thing, eventhough it's a bit far-fetched (a bit used in the same way as it would be should you say, "Bob Hope is a bit old."). No older person is in any way "intruding" upon their innocence.

If it is Ok to write such stories with all members taking part in a story being technicaly under age to have sex then a new header could be created for it.
Age of inocence perhaps.?

We must all have stories of our earlist fumbling's behind the cycle shed...I know I have and they would read dam stupid if I had to say all the characters were 18 plus!

As to the coming of age thoughts, well I couldn't write about losing my virginity due to my age *here* . But, I can write about it elsewhere if I wish.

I agree with a lot everyone has said.
Yes it is a sort of coming of age story.
Yes it is a bit far fetched.
Yes underage sex does go on.

An additional problem relates to time and place. Time because here in the UK not only have attitudes changed but laws have also changed.
Place because in different parts of the world the minimum age of consent is different.
In the UK the age of consent is 16, but a male is deemed sexually responsible at 13. Therefore a couple of 14 year olds have sex and the male commits a crime - the girl does not! Confused? I ain't finished yet. Recently it has become illegal for someone in authority teacher, carer, etc to have sex with someone under their control who is under 18.
Leap across the water to Spain and the age of consent is 12.
In Holland it is nominally 14.
But a UK citizen can be charged with illegal sex when he or she returns to the UK if they had sex in one of those countries with someone under the age of 16.
And think what happens if a couple aged 16 marry in the UK and go to Disneyland Florida for their honeymoon - do they commit an offence under US law?
I think it is a real can of worms.

When we all come in line with such countries as Demark and Sweden. Then maybe we will all grow up. That ruddy Pope has a lot to answer for. Just because he was abused the rest of creation has to suffer. You can only sweep things inder the rug for so long. One day you will fall over the rug, then what will we all do?

Sorry Hitchhiker,

I hate debunking other people's beliefs, but I think if you do some research you will soon find that hang-ups about sex appear to be a part of the Anglo-Saxon Protestant Ethic eminating I am ashamed to say from this country UK (Britain).
Spain, Italy, France and Germany which is 50/50 prot catholic split all have lower ages of consent.

It is the UK, USA, Australia who are amazingly uptight and basically out of step with other countries. Unfortunately due to their collective arrogance, economic clout and diplomatic power they seem to ignore the posotive aspects of other more liberal countries.

As a writer it poses real problems relating to reality. How do you right about a 14 year old adolescent's masturbation fantasies or attempts to make them reality - if he is supposed to be over 18 to comply with the law? I am struggling with that issue in a story I am at present writing called "MOTHER'S OLD PHOTOS". A guy finds photos of his mother when she worked as an erotic dancer - he'd always thought she was an actress and dancer.

So there is my problem.

I know where the problem lies its all a bit like when the calander changed iin the Uk in 1752 the rest of europe had done it in 1736.
So we were 11 days out of cilter. It will be the same with censorship and the f****** euro.

Also for Couture yes the excuses for now we are at war are being used as a spoke screen. To push through quiet little laws that steal away our rights as well.

I have the stories I might even write them. But if mr plod got wind of them you could get branded with the P word. So best to keep them in ones head.(They can't use your thought against yet!!)

Since the age of 12 I have been of the view that censorship is a breach of your human rights. But then we can't terminate ourselves if we are terminaly ill. But thanks to the Dutch that is coming too.

I think there's some confusion here. Sex is allowed in the U.S. by underage people. Two sixteen year old can have sex with each other, if they both consent to it. There's no law against that.
The law only goes in underage when either it's forced or it happens with someone older than them.
Child porn, for one. That's rampant.
Laurel just put the 18 year old rule here because she felt that there had to be a line drawn somewhere. She wasn't following a specific rule, because there are plenty of other sites in the U.S. that have underage stories.
She just felt that she didn't want to go there, cause if she began lowering the age to 16, people would complain about 14 year olds. And then if she lowered it to forteen, 12 year old porn advocates would begin to complain.
It was just her preferance for the age limit on this site.
Believe me, a lot of us have been trying to change her mind, with no avail. As for now, if you want to read coming of age, you'll have to visit another website.

Age of consent in the US is set by the states, so it varies. Where I live it was recently raised to 16 from 14. I think we all have to admit that there is something creepy about a 35 year old having sex with a 14 or 15 year old.

I'll admit that I love a woman in a catholic schoolgirl uniform, but the operative word there is "woman"

You're wrong. A 16-year old person is incapable of consenting to sex, even with another 16 year old.

For example (and this is from AgeOfConsent.com) in NY, where I live:

"According to New York State statutes, sexual assault is defined in various degrees. However, the basic summary is as follows:

Rape is the perpetuation of an act of sexual intercourse with a person against her will and consent, whether her will is overcome by force or fear resulting from the threat of force, or by drugs administered without consent or when, because of mental deficiency she is incapable of giving consent or when she is below the arbitrary age of consent.

Sec. 130.05 Sex offenses; lack of consent.

1. Whether or not specifically stated, it is an element of every offense defined in this article, except the offense of consensual sodomy, that the sexual act was committed without consent of the victim.

2. Lack of consent results from:

(a) Forcible compulsion; or

(b) Incapacity to consent; or

(c) Where the offense charged is sexual abuse, any circumstances, in addition to forcible compulsion or incapacity to consent, in which the victim does not expressly or impliedly acquiesce in the actor's conduct.

3. A person is deemed incapable of consent when he or she is:

(a) less than seventeen years old; or

(b) mentally defective; or

(c) mentally incapacitated; or

Therefore, a 16-year old girl cannot, legally, consent to sex with ANYONE in NYS, even another 16-year old.

I think you'd find similar laws throughout the country.

I think that's a bit odd, especially when in New Jersey it's legal for a woman to get married at 14.
And, speaking of that, why is it just women who have to give consent? The way I see it there are two parts to lovers. I think that's a bogus law if it only involves the females. Sure, in rape I can understand, considering that most people raped are women.
Yet, if a 16 year old man (boy) and a sixteen year old woman (girl) consent to sex, why is it the guy who gets in trouble and the women automatically considered the victim?
Well, I do consent to the fact that there is a law for underage sex against underage sex, but I also consent to the fact that most people are aware that teenagers have sex all the time. If that law were actually enforced, a lot of guys (BOGUS LAW) would be in jail right now, and most public schools would consist of all girls.
That law is enforced with the rape and unconsented sexual activity with minors, but when it comes to a couple getting to know each other, I doubt if it's been enforced more than a dozen times or so.
Think of what Father's daughters would do if they get a hold of this information... Hell on earth.
Anyway, I take back my statement. There IS a law about minors having sex by minors, but that doesn't stop them from doing it anyway.

Oh, and Sex Master. I do like your way of thinking. Rules are rules. Laws are laws, but then again, slavery was once allowed, and there were laws accepting that. There were laws set up by the Natzi's to put jewish people in concentration camps, hell, even a couple of laws a few years ago that a certain fiery red head couldn't say the word "pregnant" on T.V.

Pokerman, you are wrong. It is legal for two people under the age of consent to have sex. If it was illegal, who gets charged? Both? It doesn't make any sense. For example, in Michigan the legal age of consent is 16. Any two people under the age of 16 can fuck each other 24/7. It only because illegal when one party is over that age.
