I have a thought on a feature that would be very useful on CHYOO.
Take for instance a story in which the lead character is "Lisa". In the story, Lisa wakes up, then the reader chooses to have her go to the mall, where she has some adventures, and ends up on a plane to Paris. In another thread, the reader might choose to have her go to work, where she has other adventures, and ends up on a plane to Paris.
Obviously, it would be easiest at this point to re-combine the two threads into one and go on from there. Under the current system, however, it is necessary to post two identical threads from that point on.
If there were a way to re-combine threads, it might encourage longer stories because there would be a way to get them back under control, as it were. Moreover, since it wouldn't be necessary to post identical threads, such stories would take up less room on your server than they do now.
All that would be necessary is to make it so a choice could lead back to an existing thread instead of creating a new one.
