Hi all;

Here is a story idea I had a while back. I've been playing with it, but just can't make it work. Anyone care to read it over and give it some feedback? Is it interesting? Novel? Would you like to see a story written on this theme? What could be added to make it more interesting?

Feel free to discuss it in this thread or to send me a PM. I don't want to trash the idea. I think it has potential.

Regards,

Unartificial Insemination
Some things are best done the old-fashioned way ...
by Tatewaki, Copyright 2002

Premise:

Lauren is a super genius -- a Scientist/Engineer with NASA. She specializes in Biomechanics. She is cool, professional and aloof. The typical cold-fish bitch. She hasn't had sex and over and decade and hasn’t felt the lack. She does, however, feel her biological clock ticking and refuses to let her precious genetic material go to waste. She has a lot to offer the world. She knows it’s time to make a child. Her child only.

She knows whose sperm she needs, a brilliant man named Caesar. He is a musician, sculptor and an Astrophysicist as well as a fellow member of Mensa. From that organization she gets all of his personal information. He is single and is as aloof with women as she is with men. She is certain that he will consent to mix their biological material for the benefits of mankind. Their child will have every advantage. She is independently wealthy and can provide the best of everything. He will, of course, be given regular reports on their child's progress and development. That will be his only involvement in the child's life.

He agrees. She doesn't realize that his cooperation will have a stiff price ...

Notes:

Caesar instantly falls in love with Lauren but keeps hiding his feelings behind an ultra-cool exterior. He devises a plan in which he gets to possess this woman, a woman he knows will never return his feelings. Lauren only wants his sperm, not him. He uses this overwhelming need of hers for genetic perfection to his advantage. As long as he has something she wants, she will remain in his life. It is his goal not to give into her desires. They will have sex – rough, deviant sex – but he will be careful not to impregnate her. Easy, since he has a very low sperm count. She didn't check on this single aspect. Mensa had no info on his virility. Even when he finally lets her have his cock, it is doubtful she will get pregnant. He expects many "repeat performances" in the months ahead.

Yes. I'll let it stew for a week or two and let you know what I come up with. <Smacks self on the wrist; too much to do already>

... Novel? ...
Not enough there for a whole novel.;)

Sorry, Charm!

I meant novel as in 'new' or 'different,' not a novel-length piece of literature.

urgh I know what you mean

if i could just finish *one* project I'd be so happy with myself

Grin, I like it...but you'll have to be careful and not fall prey to the "he breaks her cold exterior to find the loving caring woman inside" stereotype...I hate that.

Make it more interesting...he stirs her intellectually, but she figures out his game and devises a chemical that will shoot his count through the roof making her pregnant. Final scene, her slamming the door in his face, and him with his permanent hard on that she devised in order to pay him back for all the deviant sex she had to engage in.

No danger of that. There is no love here, just cold, analytical thought. It's Chess to them.

I'm glad no one nailed me on the made up word "Unartificial." I was sure I'd be flooded with mail saying that I should call it "Natural Insemination or something. Nice to see that the folks here at Lit have a sense of humour!

You think so? A lot of the clowns who email me -- usually anonymously -- can't even fake intelligence.

Ah, Ha!

Finally someone has mentioned an UPSIDE to not getting any feedback! :D

LOL *edited to actually respond to the comment from quasi* You know, I never thought of it that way :) You do have a point my friend

Tat...are you actually working on this story, or just throwing it out into the arena to see what people think?

It's being worked on, along with dozens of others. Depending on the level of interest in the idea it'll either rise to the top of my To Do list, or sink to the bottom.

Gotta spend those 1440 minutes per day wisely!

Have you automated that, or is it intuitive? ;)

Strictly a manual endeavour, unfortunately. Still have to look at my Apathy-Meter as I reread each idea, then organize my story in progress folders to suit my ever changing moods.

The upside is that I do revisit my SIPP on a regualr basis.
