UK Solves Immigration Problem (Maybe)

Sir Kier Starmer and Emmanuel Macron have resolved the thorny issue of undocumented migrants crossing the English Channel in small boats.

Around 800 immigrants are being ferried across the channel by organized crime groups each week. France doesn't want them in France and Britain doesn't want them in Britain where they are likely to claim benefits including housing while their claim for residency is processed.

People smugglers are running a taxi service using inflatable boats, which are dangerously overloaded and intercepted mid-channel to save the lives of the migrants. The UK pays France millions of pounds to try to prevent the traffic but they are more interested in spending the cash than doing anything.

Ignoring the photo of Starmer & Macron arm-wrestling, the ingenious solution goes thus: The UK will select 50 immigrants each week and return them to France. These folks will then try again on the next tide.

France will then select 50 people from those waiting on the beaches and send them to the UK. These will be legitimate immigrants and allowed into the country.

Problem solved. Right?

Who comes up with the best cunning plans, Starmer or Baldrick?
Lol, this is totally Baldrickesque.

The Tories are now complaining that Starmer cancelled the Rwanda plan 'before it even started'. That was the plan that stumbled on for years, declared unlawful by every court it was referred to and sent more Home Secretaries to Rwanda than refugees.
