...Speaking on Wednesday afternoon in the House of Commons after MPs were convened to pay tribute to Baroness Thatcher after her death, Hampstead and Kilburn MP Glenda Jackson sparked outrage among Tory MPs wtih her speech.

She savaged the ethos of Margaret Thatcher, saying: “Everything I had been taught to regard as a vice, under Thatcherism was in fact a virtue - greed, selfishness, no care for the weaker, sharp elbows, sharp knees.

“A woman? Not on my terms”, she pointedly added.

if it was a male politician you would not think to mention looks. but women are judged on their attractiveness, even where it should be wholly irrelevant. she's a politician, not a model.

That is so frustrating. It happens all the time with Hillary. Okay so she's not a model, stfu.

Werd.

Not bothered about her looks she's just a shite politician. Got elected with her celebrity luvvy status and done nothing ever since. Useless old boot.

How is Gov. Chris Christie usually described?

She's a 76 year old woman who looks the way a 76 year old woman should look. And she's achieved stuff most people can only dream of, like winning two Oscars for best actress, yet she still chose the ungrateful task of being a very approachable constituency MP.

Oh, and she was gorgeous back in the day and she's still very charismatic in person.

gosh... yeah, she was stunning then and she still looks pretty damn good for 76! i wouldn't have guessed she was that old.
...not that this should have a thing to do with politics.

But her politics were and are ugly, even though she has moderated her views to become a Labour MP.

What? She holds pretty much traditional Labour views as far as I know. And to her credit she stands up for them, which means that she stood up to Liar Blair and she did it openly, calling for him to resign after the Hutton Enquiry.

I think you all forget, for a woman to be a woman she must adhere rigidly to the socialist consensus. Any tendency to independent thought must be decried and vilified.

Heathers.

This, ahem, lady is the one defining womanhood. Just another attack on conservative women by a hypocrite. To me, its these aging ex-hippies who never were women. Real women are dignified rightwingers like Lady Thatcher, Dr. Laura, Marine LePen, etc.

i took it the same way i would say a guy without morals and compassion is not a man.

she was judging on her ideas of morality, not on whether she thought the other woman worth boning.
