It's a worthy thread. Might not get much traction because the right is gonna be hard pressed to argue against blacks being killed and the left avoids anything negative about Obama. Still, it's an interesting story that might end up being big.

I don't know for sure. I sorta assume jungly but that's a common assumption about all of Africa and it's not true. The parts I've been to didn't have any jungle. I guess we'll find out.
I also assume monkeys but hell, I assume lions and tigers, too.

FYI, tigers are not native to Africa, but to SE Asia and India, as far north as Siberia and as far west as the Black and Caspian seas.

I have nothing against sending in the limited number of troops he did -- it sounds like they're just there to help out with some training and tech support -- but I'd hate for this to turn out the way it did in Somalia.

I know, that was my point. The general assumption about Africa is that it's all jungle and there are lions and tigers everywhere when that is simply not the case. I've been there and I still think of it that way. Just like when we hear Africa we think black people but I saw a buttload of white and tan people and really not that many black people. I was gonna insert a spearchucker reference but nobody here has a fucking sense of humor anymore so fuck ya'll.

Nation-building & so-called humanitarian Wars are an even worse use of National blood and treasure than wars with a geopolitical-based strategic rational.
