"You're gonna get hit...you're gonna get knocked out...you're gonna get hit...this is the Ultimate"

I've totally been stricken with a case of UFC fever. I was looking for something to do the other day, and picked up UFC hits vol 1. Holy shit, these guys go all out, and kill each other!!

Well, not really kill each other...for those not in the know, UFC stands for Ultimate Fighting Championship...two guys in an "octagon", fighting, one on one. Its tremendous. Theres a ref there to stop it, and no one gets hurt too bad. I'm all about the UFC now...now they're getting more towards a pro wrestling aspect, with entrances and theme music and stuff, with their poster boy, Tito Ortiz, leading the way...guys a punk ass bitch in my opionion, as he's fighting Ken Shamrock in a couple of months, due to the fact that he completley showed disrespect to Shamrock and his Lion's Den fighters. I cant wait for Kenneth to kick Tito's ass. God i love the UFC

I personally don't know if Ken can infact win aginst Tito. In his prime I would have said no problem, but he recently had a hard time aginst an aged Dan Severn (I think Ken lost, but I can't quite remember), so I don't believe he has much of a chance aginst a younger Tito, who is in or near is peek right now. But it will definatly be an interesting fight all the same.

Are they going to fight in a UFC event, or will it be on one of the smaller promotions like King of the Cage or Pride?

From what i understand, its going to be a UFC pay per view in November.

I can see what you mean, shamrock is indeed past his prime, but he's also cut weight...if you look at him now, its no wonder he had a tough time with Severn, who's still up in the 300 pound range. I personally think he's going to take out Tito though...Tito isnt half the ground fighter that shamrock is...and think about the people that Shamrock has gone up against...Royce Gracie is the first that springs to mind...Gracie, Kimo, all legends...Tito beat Guy Mezger and Elvis Sinosik. I think shamrock will make short work of Tito, as long as he can take it to the mat. Tito, i will admit, does have the superior striking skills.

Tito does infact have a lot of impressive submission skills (IMO), but he doesn't really get the chance to use them, because a lot of his opponents recently have been stand up striking peoople, and I think his last real mat person he fought, Yuki Kondo, Tito made him tap out. However I must say that due to sheer experience alone, Shamrock does have the better submission skills. I've seen him crank into an elbow or ankle from positions I never would have EVER thought of. What will be interesting to see is if/when it does to go the mat, will Tito try to go hold for hold aginst Ken, or will he do a grounded striking attack?

Should be an interesting fight. I may actuially shell out the $$$ to watch it somewhere.

Wait uno momento... it was Don Frye that Shamrock recently lost to, not Dan Severn (although he did loose to him a few years ago). Of couse the loss to Frye was a split decesion that a lot of people think he should have won. But seeing how I never saw the fight, I can't really say.

I must admit, i havent seen Tito work on any submissions. When i saw him fight Sinosik earlier, he took him down, and just used the ground and pound technique, and beat him senseless. i think shamrock will be able to take Tito down, and tap him out...i foresee a choke of somekind, but thats just me. If its gonna be a stand up fight, Tito can take it, theres no doubt, but Shamrock will take him down ,and tap him out...and i personally cannot wait to see it.

I think the only thing that can cause Ken to loose this match is his emotions, which can take him over from time to time...i hope he dosent blow his top.

Any websites i should know about? right now, i'm just with UFC.tv. i'm certain there has to be more

I use www.sherdog.com for practically anything UFC and MMA related. Also if you do a google search on a particular fighter, you can usually find some good MMA sites that way.
