Back in the early 90's back in high school I got razzed quite a bit for not really knowing anything other than U2. Not that I didn't care for them - I did like "Desire" - but I just wasn't into them.

Now ten years or so later, I like them. Have four different CD's including the newest greatest hits CD with special bonus DVD and B-sides CD..

And now no one I know either online or RL likes U2!

Can someone prove me wrong? Who else here likes U2?

I like their old stuff, most of the newer stuff grates on me. But I do have a thing for the new song Electrical Storm.

And see I like the new stuff.. love the new stuff in fact. Not to say I don't like the old stuff, but the new stuff hooked me in.

Joshua Tree is about as brilliant an album as anyone ever needs to make. And almost everything before that is classic.

The techno thing they went through made me quit paying attention to them...but the more recent stuff isn't bad.

Love the duet with the Coors, even.

Bono just gets better with age. Just like Connery.

um, I missed the '90s. is there something i should know? (most of the '80s too).

U2 rules. Saw the "Numb" video when I was 12 or so and been into them ever since.

Check out "The Alarm" also refered to as U3. Good band. Rain in the Summertime, Presence of Love are good tunes.

I LOVE U2!...Have for years...
Can't help but feel the haunting of the edge's guitar riffs...and when Bono sings I feel that voice in my soul...

U2 ROCKS!:D

Well, Let's see...

I own Rattle & Hum and Under a Blood Red Sky on VHS.

I bought a Gibson Explorer when I was 16, though that had just as much to do with Metallica as it did with U2. Sunday Bloody Sunday was the first song I learned to play on it. Ever wondered what that song was about ("This song is NOT a rebel song!") Read "Those Bullets are Real"

I have the Johnny Cash cover of "One" (The U2 song "One" Not the Metallica song "One")

I have the U2 cover of "Paint It Black" on vinyl, which to my knowlege was only released as the B side to "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" single.

U2, Yeah, one of my all time favorites. Been listening to 'em since '83, which was about the time I also became a JohnnyCashaholic.

P.S.

Am I the only one who noticed Johnny Cash was on Zooropa?

That song is cool in such a strange way

U2 is good in bits... I like em, and yet have nothing of em.. one year.

U2 is a great band.
I think WaxNWane is right that The Joshua Tree is the best album. I don't mind thier new stuff but to me it's not as good.
They still rock in concert though. I got to see them during their latest tour. It was great, I was 5 feet away from the Band. They have great stage presence.

I'm older and was introduced to the "Boy" album by one of my students. They were one of the few bands that seemed to have that spark that so many bands had in the 60's...

I liked the first few albums and then, well, some guys JUST DON'T KNOW WHEN TO HANG IT UP!

The Michael Jordan Syndrome.

I think I can...
I think I can...
I think I can...

:D

Yes I like their old stuff much better. Liked them from the beginning, actually.

No.

Since "Numb" was my first introduction to U2, Zooropa was the first album of theirs I bought. "The Wanderer" is a great song. In fact, there isn't a bad song on that album.
