"Twins"

I have a special friend who plays with me.
We have golden hair, green eyes, and small noses.
Look at her; "does she really look like me"?
I sit here and wonder if anyone else knows.

I say; "did you know you look like me"?
"Yes, but why do I look just like you?
Or I am looking at a reflection of me."
My friend; "why do I look just like you?"

Mother; " why does my sister look just like me"?
Because one day two baby girls were born".
She says we are; identical twins, you and me.
First you, then five minutes later I was born.

My friend, is my sister, a twin to me.
We may look alike, but are very different.
Don't compare me to her, and her to me.
I am my own person, unique, and different.

You know that special friend is my twin sister.
We share favorites things and own little secrets.
We are two unique people; I am her sister!
Everyone knows it and we make sure, no one forgets.
