Thursday on FNC’s “Fox & Friends,” network legal analyst Jonathan Turley weighed in on the Democrats’ push to pack the U.S. Supreme Court. Democrats will reportedly announce a bill Thursday to pack the court by expanding the number of justices from nine to 13.

Turley, noting that President Joe Biden and some liberal “icons” like former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg have been against court-packing in the past, said the move is a “hostile takeover of the court.”

It is hard to characterize a bill Nancy Pelosi opposes bringing to the floor as something the Democratic party supports.

Court? Sheeeit, they're doing it to the whole fucking nation. What do you think the erasure of the southern border is all about?

Nadler, Markey and the rest were open about their goals: They have an ambitious agenda that is nowhere authorized in the Constitution, so they need a rubber stamp in the Court to get it all nailed down without a lotta laws getting in the way.

Let's pause to consider, in similar circumstances, what would Mitch McConnell do? :D

Since Cocaine Mitch as Majority Leader for quite a while and never sought to pack the court, I'd say he'd keep it at nine.

Pud has a short memory.

Mitch effectively just "packed" the courts in the right wing's favor through far more egregious actions than a sensible expansion to 13 justices; one for each federal appellate court.

The Majority Leader sets Senate agenda. Cuck Schemer is doing it now, Mitch did it then.

All you need do is win elections.

There is nothing sensible about that. It's just a random justification for the naked power grab.

It's like the (D)'s are TRYING to start a fuckin civil war LOL

RBG thought 9 was a solid number for the court and warned against packing.
“If anything would make the court look partisan,” the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg said in 2019, “it would be that — one side saying, ‘When we’re in power, we’re going to enlarge the number of judges, so we would have more people who would vote the way we want them to.’”

Biden’s leadership has been absent amid court-packing push

Friday, George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley questioned President Joe Biden’s leadership as Democrats have been pushing to add four additional U.S. Supreme Court justices.

"The public has been against packing the court in overwhelming numbers,” Turley said on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom.” “That has never changed. These justices have opposed this. So, the thing that’s driving this is the most extreme elements in our politics. But the real … disturbing aspect of this is not that people were going to try to do this and run on the Supreme Court. It is the absence of leadership from President Biden.”
