Every night, folk just vanish. One minute they're there, the next they're gone. Occasionally, a thread has some farewell, but that's exceptional.

Edited to add the real point (which - natch - I missed out) which is that although someone's gone, that ain't obvious to me, until I've waited, and waited, and waited - and finally given up.

I wondered why - most folk here aren't accidentally rude (deliberately, yes - as necessary), so it seems most unlikely to be that.

For myself, it's just that after some post, or reading some thread, I've had enough - and going back to any individual thread seems far too artificial - as well as leaving the others without notification.

So, here's a thread explicitly for saying "tata for now", "I'm off now, bye!", or simply "Good night all".  Can't find someone? Check here to see if they've 'signed off'.
