A friend has a depressed kid, adult kid. Just moved back home to her. From Daddy's. We guess that she needs her Mommy. We're discussing our own bouts wit the stuff and how we got through it. Not with shrinks, and not with pills, but with action.


Depression has a very hard time hitting a moving target.

If you're really interested I'll PM you the sources.

I'm building mine up from an 80% receiver in that I have access to a Mill and Lathe. I then buy the 'lower' parts kit and assemble the lower. I purchase the upper complete. I have the tools to buy the upper kit, but the price difference isn't worth the time and trouble.

Well, I think I'd need a completely machined lower since I cannot be in one place long enough, it seems, to hunt down a credible machine shop, nor do I have those skills. I can assemble anything, almost.


And buying a complete upper makes sense, too.

There's a mama squirrel out there morning over the loss of her "babies." They were just trying to immigrate to a better life.
 
Our AC units are dealing with the heat, checked on a neighbour who sent me to another senior neighbour lady to check and I dragged two of the guys into it so they could install her ac unit for her. Poor old lady was too proud to ask for help and two weak to install the ancient window unit herself. It was one of the old steel units that will get her down to 40*F within an hour but needs a crane to lift into place.

I declared no shop work tomorrow so we can sit in the AC and work on the computers. All the putzing trying to get the upgrades/updates done have gotten annoying so everyone is going to pitch in and it will be done tomorrow.

And the final piece of good news, bbq bacon cheeseburgers tonight.
 
I told you folks that the heat that was sitting over us until Wed. of last week was sliding your way. Can't say I didn't warn ya. :)
 
You should have warned me about my pool.

I was cleaning it when something serious stung me. Now my arm is swollen and covered in welts...

There was even a spider walking across the water.

Too many Japanese beetles for my comfort. I drowned all of them I found along with those damned little sweat bees who rewards rescue with a sting every time, so I declared war on them many years ago.

The hubs and the nephews have taken to the hills to "Blow stuff up". It should make nice bottom land when they're done.
