All praises to Allah for teh bacon.

BACON!!!!!

Home and in for the night. Made a lunchmeant-n-cheese sammich for starters. Kitteh always acts like he'd like some lunchmeat, so I tear off a corner and offer it to him. He sniffs it . . . and does nothing else. Silly fucker. I'll have to remind him next time, too.

Work is getting to be like a ghost town. Not too much left to do. Hell, I got to see the area and meet some folks, so it's working out for me on a personal level. I may even install this tile floor tomorrow.

Back at the crib.

There was a big t-storm that blew through as we were wrapping up the workday. One street on the drive back here was partially flooded. Of course, there were a couple of idjits who just had to hurry on through the puddle. One guy apparently swamped his car.

Didn't see any hydroplaning, so I guess folks here drive competently, at least.

Thanks be to Allah, like he knows much about water.

Shave every day, and you'll always look keen.

Happy non-payday Wednesday!!!

There's a construction crew staying a few rooms over. It's sounds like they're off to work already Kitteh is watching the door intently.

We're supposed to have concrete work starting today in the front parking lot. And we're supposed to have replacement windows in the taller wing starting, too. Both should be done in a week, depending on weather.

We'll see, won't we?

Morning Wat.

Non-payday's suck no matter what day of the week they fall on.

I off in a bit to meet with some friends to plot the overthrow of a little mini-Empire. Nothing like rebellion to keep the juices flowing. :)

Reasonably productive night...considering. One of two factory fog lights that were burned out before I bought the car decided to start working. Do I disable it, or replace the non-working one. They aren't very bright, so they are sort of pointless, which is why I had not bothered to fix them

. . .the joy of something on the car fixing itself is not to be discounted either.

I had a productive and busy day, it makes the time pass quickly and keeps the demons away.

I saw an old Pontiac GTO, I'm guessing a 67 or close to that, it was only partially restored but it was a beautiful car even in its age.

The only thing today lacked was bacon.

Something, something else, something someone else passes on to you, in the end you deal with it and move on.

Should be a pretty standard day today. Some storms knocked out the power last night and there were reports of trees and lines down so the shop work will get done later. I took a walk around the house and it looks like weathered it okay.

Morning all.

Off to the range this AM. New sights on the AR to be zero'd and a new load for the 300 to be checked out.

The weather liar is dangling rain in front of us for this weekend. I'll believe it when it interrupts my dance.

Back to the concrete box with a storefront-type wall in front. Kitteh seems fine. All kitteh functions seem normal.

I have just come off another prescription as a result of my titanium implant. I'll come off another one within the week. Nothing makes a body feel old like having a stack of pills to take each morning. Be down to one here shortly.

We should get this job nearly punched out by the end of next week. All of the paving should be done by then, too. The elevator replacement comes in next weekend, and the back-up generator should be installed the last week of the month.

Would that Allah bestow a nice bonus for swift work completed thoroughly . . . .

A year to get proficient, 6-8 months to stack up a given amount of paper, then that particular angle evaporated and I hesitated for four or five months making a necessary adjustment and halved my nest-egg for investing in the new angle. In just three months I've managed to more than quadruple that diminished stack of paper. I had a vague, (nonspcific as to timeframe) goal for how thick I wanted that stack to be and over shot it by 20%.. It's approaching the size of a nest egg that might enable me to bankroll a project or two that I'm considering.. there's no money in making money if you cannot have your money make money for you.

Morning Wat.

^^^^No tan lines. I wonder if she has her own tanning bed? :)

Still threatening us with rain starting tonight.

The new sight on the AR is solid. My only beef is that the 'red dot' isn't bright enough in direct sun light. Switching to the 'green dot' solves that but I would have preferred that the red be a little brighter. Got the new load dialed in and I'm golden out to 400 yds. I need to load up a new batch and hit the 1000 yd range.

The 300 has a 26" bull barrel. (Rem. 700 LR) The only work I've had done to it so far is the addition of a muzzle brake and I had the muzzle re crowned with a target crown. Eventually I'm going to re-stock it.

Ahhh, the red dot. My son has an EOTech that I really like, but not $500 worth of 'like.' So I spent a LOT of time on YouTube looking at bargain red dot reviews. I focused on "will it take a lickin' and keep on tickin'", hold zero, and battery life. I ended up buying a CVLife Chinese made knock-off for $30 on Amazon. My iron sights are 'pop-ups' that I can fall back on in an instant if the red dot takes a shit on me. It sighted in quickly (9 rnds) and then I ran another 30 rnds through it without any wandering sight problems sooooo, so far, so good. But I really haven't run it through any stress yet so I'm not going to be doing any endorsements. As I get more mileage on it I'll keep you posted.
