Coffee made with Jolt Cola? Ewww

It's been a busy day around here, whatever was causing the funk has lifted and asses were kicked today and shit got done.

Now I have some Blackjack frozen yoghurt and I'm going to relax the rest of the night

Blackjack? Always sit at third base. That way, you rely on Allah to tell you if that's a 10 or not, and for the dealer to get it if it is and you don't need it.

I had a lovely visit with the Wednesday Night Workville crew. It'll probably be the last for a long time. That kind of sucks, really.

Got a breakfast meeting in the early morning. It'll be good, I can tell.

Off to read . . . .

Happy Thursday!!!

Up a bit early because of a breakfast meeting with a guy from the office. That should be pleasant.

Should be able to get all but done today at the job, save for a couple of small special-order bits and the bitch tenent who won't let us (me) in until tomorrow.

Insh'Allah that I get to hit the road for the holiday weekend earlier than usual. Like by lunchtime.

The transportation department for idiots that I used to do work for cannot handle the basics of logistics. They routinely leave people stranded. They'll put in an order to pick someone up and get them someplace semi important and then just leave them there when it's time to go home they can't find the return trip authorization.

My good friend the Orthopedic case study with cancer got down to the doctor for a routine test was done in 20 minutes and then waited four and a half an hours and could not get picked up. I tried to get through to the people that they actually have the contracts with to wrap them out to finally maybe get something done but I gave that up after a half an hour of routed through calls.

I went to go get him and take him the 60 or so miles home. He insisted on giving me gas money and his idea of gas money will fuel the prius a couple of days. He really can't afford it but on the other hand his pride demands it and the gracious thing to do was to accept. In the past when this situation had reared its ugly had I was able to put him off because generally speaking I could combine it with some other trip., but I don't get out that way anymore. He was excited to do lunch his treat and fortunately didn't notice that I opted for the 99 cent hot dog. Which was quite tasty by the way. Good company makes for better meals anyway.

Good for you and good for him.
Too many people will not go out of their way and
too few people truly understand the small cost of appreciation.

Looks like rain for the next week.
I have a guy scheduled to clean the deck today.
;)
I know what you're thinking, but it is not Lord Buddha.
My guy will be using water and deck cleaner. I even had to buy it.

Looks like I might get a 3.5-day weekend.
Weekend or weakened?

The electrocardiologist a couple hours away had an early cancellation so we made the long drive to Sacto today, just before storms and weekend escapee traffic. Sacto is a world capitol so stuff gets gnarly there at times. We might hide out at home from the holiday hot-rodders. We call traffic up the narrow but scenic Kit Carson Pass highway to the Kirkwood mountain resort The Kirkwood 500. Don't try to walk across the two lanes, not on long weekends.

Happy Friday!!!

Weekend. Small bit of work, go to the office and turn in my expenses, and hit the road.

Looks like rain this weekend, too. I need to sort out my itinerary so I can get that laid out and sort out the driving.

Good on you, Que, for helping the guy out. I find that I have to let people help me sometimes because they need to. It's not nice of me to say no.

Morning all. Another sunny, dry, and almost hot day here. I should make that weather report my sigline.

I hear ya on the traffic. I plan on staying off the highways and byways tonight and Monday evening. The town should be fairly quiet over the weekend though. It can get dicey up in the mountains on long weekends. I may shoot up to a lake I know of and try to get some Trout fishing in but no hard plans so far.

Not officially a long weekend for us, but we take it anyway because most of our clients are in the US.

I used to drive with a charity group, we used our own cars and drove people to their doctor's
appointments. Most were cancer patients who couldn't or wouldn't drive themselves anymore.
It said in the brochure that we weren't to be compensated to protect us from accusations that
we were taking advantage of the ill and that if they felt the need there were many charities
who would appreciate the money. That little blurb gave me an out many times.

lol...

Should I make my sigline rain today?
It's clouding up and the deck guy is wrapping up.
Now all its sins will be rinsed away by thunderstorm.
Only Buddha knows when it will become dry enough to seal.

The medium sized dog found a playmate of unknown origins. Said playmate, apparently was unimpressed by the pup's attention and left her with a bloody ear. My living room looked like a crime scene...the carpet shampooer had to be used. The ear is still dripping blood even though it's just a teeny little nick, so the pup will have to stay on the porch until it stops. She is not happy, but she'll get over it.

The things they do.

Back in KANSAS, we had two good-sized hounds. When one got bit by a copperhead, the other had to investigate and got bit also. This happened two years in a row.

They have survival instincts, but the reasoning skills of a three-year old.

THAT! really made my day, punk!

There were so many furry-tailed tree rats at the feeder, that I decided that it was time to cull.

The boldest one did not run far. He played hide and seek with me; a nose here, a nose there...

;)

Well, a nose is all I need. One shot, down and dog food.
One shot, one meal.

Life is good.

Are you on unemployment AGAIN?
