Jesse Hutchins was an American.

Alabama is America. He was born there. Virginia is America. He died and was buried there.

When you go to Mount Rushmore, Those two states and the other nine are listed by their original dates of ratification, not their readmission dates. That is because Fletcher found Josey Wales and told him that the war is over, because they all died a little in that damned war . . . .

Jesse just happened to die a lot.

I do not doubt his linage or his service. I definitely understand a young man put in the middle of a fight he did not initiate. I have family under similar stones just on different turf.

You know what? Fuck all that shit, and if you wanna make a big fucking deal out of shit happening "out there" or 100 years ago, or 1000 years ago, go fuck yourself, too. Hard. Until there's copious blood.

So, you can buy a '33 Willys fiberglass gasser set-up as a roller complete ofr $23.5K. Go buy a hemi from the junkyard, complete with the computer/tuner horseshit (or carb it), and build yourself a killer street ride with all that arguizing energy of your'n.

Or if you're a real glutton for punishment, get one of those twin-cam Frods and have at it . . .

but you'll have to put hand grips on the back for pushing it home . . . .

I need a backhoe before any hot rods.

Buy it cheap and fix it or spend up and have a nice orange one?

Neat.
So, could I put a good gas mileage 4 cylinder engine in one? So I could have a super cute grocery getter?

She can ride in the bucket.

There is is, folks, post #91000.

I'll be sure to install a bucket on that note.

If I weren't so lazy, I'd have taken the company ride to Walmart early for an oil change, but I couldn't be arsed sitting there two Sundays in a row. Besides, no amount of Walmart auto-care will make that car into a chick magnet.

Maybe for the non-consenting ones . . . .

So I decided to start over on Justified.

Been doin' it by my lonesome, pissed off, who wants some???

Sucks to be Dewey Dewey Crowe. ...

In the absence of something compelling, I to will resort to rereading.
As I said to you before, I am now doing Fields of Blood and Holy Wars by Karen Armstrong.
I think I need to do a little book shopping.

Happy Sunday!!!

I'm blowing town earlier today to get back to the hills, hoping to begin to see some fall foliage. But as wet as it's been and as warm, I'ma kinda doubt it's begun to change yet. It sure as Hell hasn't here.

Also, I need to go to Walmart and get some cat food and litter and supplies for my long outing. Gonna be busy as a long-tailed cat hanging wallpaper these next 12 days.

Gonna do a bit of Google with my fist cuppa . . . .

...

The change is triggered by the hours of daylight. ;) ;)

I need to head up to the Valle to check out the Aspen. Here in town the type of trees that are common don't 'turn'. The leaves hang in until the first frost and then all hit the ground in two days.

Full-auto day at the range today so I'll be heading out early myself to do some RSO'ing. Ear plugs AND muffs mandatory for that event. I'll take the camera and see if I can get some cool shots.

Rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow. I've discovered that I can make it rain locally merely by firing up the chiminea. Should have thought of that last year during the drought.

The oak forest is even worse, the shit just clings and clings, some of it hanging on until the spring...

Completely off topic, but it's me, so there. I just 1/2 saw 1/2 a news piece on carbon paper. I did not know it was still sold.

Wat can score a hot chick, but usually she's crazy or on the edge.

Yes you can still get carbon paper. I have a checkbook full of the shit :D

We've had a lot of rain this year. The trees haven't started to change as yet. On years lean on rain, they begin to change mid September.

It depends, with the same amount of rain, the oaks remain green, while a lot of things, like the redbuds, are giving it up and getting ready for bed.

Imagine my surprise to learn it's still sold. Back in my youth I worked in an office, we'd hoard carbon paper as if it were gold. "That's only been used once, don't throw it away!"

I remember the age of typewriters.
I remember the earliest computer networks (being in the military).
It's all so different now. My father ran a computer that took a while floor to be housed and another floor of air-conditioning to keep it cool.
They didn't have keyboards they used paper tape and flashcards.

Then again, when grandfather was born, man had yet to fly and before he died, he saw a man walk on the moon...

The old manual typewriters; no delete so you better be accurate or you were gonna be lickin that calf all over again. STRESS

Well, that was a nice stroll down memory lane.
