I have been searching forever. It’s a story that I read a very long time ago. It’s about this guy (named Kane?) and his people the take over a nunnery type establishment. He takes a female (can’t remember her name), and brings her back to his land. He has an orb that he gets messages on. He also knows some magic. The girl and him get closer but then he screws it up by getting jealous and she ends up running away while they go and visit the King and Queen. She ends up having his child while on the run.
