Trying to improve...

Hey guys, I am trying to improve in becoming a great writer and I need your help.

My biggest problems with my writing would be that I feel like I'm really redundant in some cases & my usage of words in my stories. Also, compared to other authors I feel like my stories don't go as deep as some of the good ones.

If y'all need help on identifying my problems, just look up the writer Stormbringer's profile in ASSTR. Then, go to E and I Stories & look for the 3 stories called "The FSU Cowgirls." Those are the things I written.

I appreciate that you'd like to improve your writing, but a lot of people aren't going to want to help someone who doesn't post on this site.

Also, for those that would be willing, you should provide links to the stories. People are more likely to look at them if they can just click as opposed to going to a site and looking them up.

There are numerous writer challenges to try and plenty of tips on improving your writing. Go to the Editors forum and ask for one to go over your work and see what they find to improve upon. You can submit a story in the Story Discussion, or Story Feedback forums and receive assistance there, as well.

That would be in understandable violation of this Web site's rules. This Web site isn't here to promote competing Web sites. (Which is an answer to the OP too. Let the ASSTR readers help you with ASSTR stories. If you'd like help from Literotica readers, post the stories to Literotica.)

My bad, then. You're right. Sorry.

That still doesn't mean we service competing Web site stories here. The request wasn't for help with a Literotica story.

Editors here help with stories to be posted to Literotica. And feedback from others is given, by request, on Literotica stories after they've been posted to Literotica. This isn't an editorial service for ASSTR.

And now the whole request looks suspicious. If it's the same Stormbringer and the request is to help improve the writing, why not index that long file of stories right here on Literotica, most of which have quite respectable ratings? Looks a bit like a "move over to ASSTR" to read me ploy. (The profile here pretty much says that.) Why should Literotica support that?

The first part of my story is pending to be submitted. All I can do now is wait.

Let me give you an example of how you can be less redundant:
Hey guys, I am trying to improve my writing and I need your help. My biggest problems are that I'm too redundant, have poor word usage and my stories lack depth.
I would suggest you would have gotten a better response if you had requested suggestions for what books to read for improving your writing rather than asking for someone to read your writing and give you feedback.

Here are my book suggestions: I don't know if the OP is typical of your writing, but if it is, I suggest getting a writing workbook that has lots of exercises on constructing sentences. "Style: Lessons in Clarity and Grace" by Joseph M. Williams helped me to be more concise, but it is focused on technical writing, not fiction.
