I've got 1 submission, and my second has been rejected for no apparent reason (that sucks).

Most volunteer editors have got no or less than 5 stories!!!

Need someone with skill and EXPERIENCE to assist me (grumble!)

Cheers

There usually is a reason your story was rejected, and there should be link to click on for further information. What kind of story is it? Perhaps I could look it over for you if it's not too long.

Being a prolific writer does not necessarily make one a good editor – just as being a prolific tennis player does not necessarily make one a good coach.

Some of the best editors I know are not even particularly good authors. Yes, they have technical skills and an eye for detail. (They'll probably suggest 'fewer than five stories' and drop the screamers, for example.)

But, more importantly, good editors have the ability to help the author say what the author wants to say – not what the editor wants the author to say.

Good luck

As others have said, quantity (or lack of) of stories does not make a good editor. There are many authors here who have hundreds upon hundreds of stories who would, in my opinion, make crappy editors.

If you don't take PennLady up on her offer, you'd be better off looking for help in the Editors' Forum, not the Authors' Hangout.

Good luck to you.
