It might also be in the sci fi or non human category, cause I'm pretty sure its in a different world. The main character lives in kind of a war zone and is abducted on his wedding day. He wakes up in a cell of sorts and he's trying to escape. A man watches him and is amused, then later buys the main character at the auction. I believe the man doing the buying is named Fen..? He's against slavery and eventually admits to wanting to help the main character home.
The two grow very fond of each other and have somewhat of a psychic connection, the main character can kind of sense Fen's emotions because of a tingling in his spine.
I read this story more than three years ago and I just remembered it today. I've spent a while trying to find it, but I can't. Anyone know what story I'm talking about?
