There are a lot of "Volunteer Editors" out there.

Who do y'all think is the most trustworthy???

Someone who won't steal your fucking story and modify it for themselves.

I see that a lot of fellow writers are using or have used, @blackrandl1958, though I do not know this person.

It is difficult, sometimes, as an author. You read someone's story and you go, "No, no, no, that's not the way to write this." And not because it's a badly written story, but because it could be so much better.

Is the Volunteer Editor program working? When I made my account, I initially tried to sign up for it and couldn't. I wound up writing stories instead. To the best of my knowledge, most of the people listed under the program weren't active on the site anymore.

Blackrandl1958 is both a prolific editor and writer. She’s sound as a pound. On top of that, she organized a couple of invitationals a year. I’m sure her dance card is busy, but if you want a trustworthy editor, she’s the go-to.

Lynn is a board moderator and she helped me for years, so I’d trust her. But she said she doesn’t edit as much these days. I like to think I’m trustworthy.

Is trustworthiness really an issue? Is this a thing? Do editors really "steal" the ideas of those who've entrusted their stories to them for editing? I'm not aware of this. It never occurred to me to be concerned about this.

Blackrandl1958 has experience as an editor and she ALSO relies upon a number of editors for her own stories. I would suggest checking out her stories and looking at the list of people who help her with her stories because if she relies on their help they're probably good.
