Trump's Latest Distraction: Renaming Veterans Day

DOGE fired everyone hired by the federal government over the last two years, without even attempting to evaluate their performance or importance.

jUDgeD and DisMissED

Poor RockHead doesn’t understand anything. 😆
The co. I last worked for fired 100 employees on a Friday afternoon without explanation to save the company. Isn't treating government like a business refreshing? Lol. :)

The Wall Street Journal has a "scoop" this morning: Orange Julius Caesar has decided to split Veterans Day into two separate holidays and rename each of them.
By imperial decree of Cadet Bonespurs™ ,
  • November 11th will now be called Victory Day for World War 1
  • May 8th will now be called Victory Day for World War 2
These events commemorate the last times that segregated American forces won "unconditional surrenders" from their opponents (yes, I realize World War 1 was ended by "armistice" rather than "unconditional surrender", but Teh New Narrative says otherwise.

Military forces who served during Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan don't get a "memorial day" because they all failed to win their respective "wars". Also, recognizing any of those conflicts would run counter to current anti-DEI initiatives and also would be harmful to former Fox News weekend anchor and current Secretary of Defense Pickled Pete Hegseth's directive to "re-segregate" the American military forces.

Is this any different than the previous administration pulling the new national holiday, Juneteenth out of their assholes?

To be honest I am amazed it took this long for a day to commemorate the end of human slavery in this country. About fucking time.

Desert Storm was a tactical win but a strategic half-measure, a war that solved the surface problem while leaving the deeper ones to metastasize. Thus, the need for a second invasion ten years later. A total victory wouldn't have required a sequel.
The second was not required. It's premise was fabricated.

What you are experiencing is a president from the private sector attempting to get things done instead of a political president happy with the status quo. :)
A system unfamiliar to the authoritarians in the Democrat Party.

Critics were quick to point out that Victory Day—or V.E. Day—is only celebrated in Europe to mark the date of the Allied victory over Nazi Germany in 1945. As all high-school textbooks will attest, America continued to fight World War II until the Japanese surrender on Aug. 15 of that year.

The factual oversight prompted MSNBC host Keith Olbermann to brand Trump “A complete moron.”
trump, and trump's arse-kissers—hired for their obsequious ability to spend all day finding ways to flatter trump—are such an ignorant bunch. :(

Celebrating only the veterans of WWI and WWII would see 99 percent of living veterans excluded—just 66,000 of them remain out of the 15.8 million American veterans, according to a 2023 census. Notably, that number includes Vice President J.D. Vance, who served in Iraq, but excludes Trump who avoided the Vietnam War draft on account of his alleged “bone spurs.” Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, testified before the House Oversight Committee in 2019 that Trump confessed to fabricating the injury. “You think I’m stupid? I wasn’t going to Vietnam,” Trump reportedly told Cohen.

Saddam Hussein was left in power with a formidable army.
Are you traitors condoning the dismissal of our millions of veterans' service to this Country?

It's a yes or no.
