I keep hearing from folks how the Donald will fix everything, that with his keen business sense he'll right the wrongs of the past.

Er, not quite. During the ten years he personally headed Trump Hotel & Casinos, the organization lost money every single year despite his competitors soaring during the same time.

Even worse, while the shareholders were getting punched in the nose, Trump himself was raking in millions from bonuses and various fees he charged his own organization. In effect, moving money from one pocket to the other.

Wow, what business sense he has. Screw everyone else so he can make a buck. How great would he be as our great and glorious leader.

Yes, it takes a real dummy not to actually take a look at Trump's business "successes" and his way of doing business and not run screaming into the night.

Still, in a perverse way, I think I've come around to preferring him in the White House to the two Evangelical nuts, Cruz and Rubio, who would be almost equally inept and grating. At least we'd have a liberal in the White House and it would be fun for both Trump and his supporters to actually see what's entailed in the job. I'd count on the Republican Congress and bureaucracy to sink anything he tried to do and the rest the world could only be enthusiastic for anyone who replaced him in four years (or less).

The reason Trump himself has not is because even as those businesses were failing he did the same thing as he did in the aforementioned casino. He made sure that he was paid even as shareholders lost their asses.

He always makes sure that he's protected, anyone else can suck it as far as he's concerned.
