If Trump doesn't win the election, and with the massive media onslaught that has largely already destroyed him with constant negative propaganda which nobody can realistically overcome it sadly seems increasingly likely, there are strong rumors that he is planning to start his own cable news network. He's already said he is moving to Washington one way or the other and will not go away after the election.

We have seen that elections are irrelevant when the media can destroy (or build up) any candidate or idea at will. They managed to take Trump down from tied or leading in late May to double digits behind in mid-June just by turning up the negative propaganda. The media decides pretty much everything now via its direct connection into people's brains.

Trump TV could be the first real effort to begin to build an alternative media to fight the establishment, and may be even better than him winning the election in the long run.

Thatcher said "first you win the argument then you win the election." Trump TV could start the dialogue.

Wouldn't he actually have to have an argument?

I've no idea of anything he stands for but his own self interest.

You clowns don't get politics. Lemme educate you a little.

Two conditions rule all political contests: 1) Every voter votes her best interest regardless of the tv, and 2). no American quietly suffers anyone with a nickel more than he has. This is a contest tween the haves and have-nots.

That is, about 25% of white America is outta work or stuck with reduced hours. Both parties forgot Whites remain 75% of America, and whites took it up the ass since 2009.

Another business for him to fail at?

While he was in control of his casinos in Atlantic City the company never turned a profit.

The Tea partiests belie number 1 and putting 1 and 2 together, nearly all of Trump's supporters belie this as well.

And, quite obviously, James, with the two major candidates being Clinton and Trump, it's a contest between haves and has more.

A discount Berlusconi. That's just... sad.

So how did you make your 'billions', helium head? I'm sure he'd be all ears to hear your 'advice'.

Oh Lord...

A network for people who find Fox News to be too intellectually challenging.

Cree-tin tee-vee

Yes, no doubt you will be thrilled when Obama, unable to sit down and shut up when his regime ends, announces that the next outlet for his diarrhea of the mouth attacks will be the founding of the BPN...

The Banana Peeler Network.

He might try to 'found' it, but may have to go hat in hand to Trump to fund it. Does the name 'Banana Peeler Network' sound a tad 'racist'? If it does, tough......

Yes it does, which negates any interest in reading any more of your posts. Tough.

No great loss. Tell me, does your brain leak common sense the way the 71 used to leak fuel before flight?

He managed over a billion dollars worth of free publicity when he was the only candidate who could conceivably afford such a media buy. I marveled at how NBC News, the same network that cancelled his show for remarks about Mexicans featured him as the lead story night after night for weeks. I take my hat off to him for that. But he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword. I don't think he gets to whine about being treated unfairly when he suffocated the competition for media exposure.

As long as he confines himself to one channel, I'm all in favor of it. He would be following in the footsteps of U.S. Presidents Lamar Alexander and Pat Robertson.

I agree that the media can build up or destroy any candidate or idea at will, or at least they could when there were newspapers with dedicated and experienced political reporters that were knowledgeable and persistent enough to ask follow up questions. They did both to Joe Biden in '84.

I disagree that elections are irrelevant. We saw that in the age of social media and continuous cable coverage, a media master such as Trump can manipulate his way to victory, even though more people voted against him in the Republican primaries than for him. Likewise, more people voted for Shillary than for Trump. We saw that Jeb's money was no match for Trump's publicity stunts. We saw that Bernie's social media and donor funded campaign could draw larger crowds than even Trump. Amazingly enough, we also saw that when Chris Matthews asked follow up questions until he pinned Trump down on abortion ( only to have his position twice revised in the next several hours) , and The Washington Times followed up on the distribution of the money Trump claimed to raise for veterans at a rally he held when he ducked out of the debate, real journalism can still have an impact.

The media decides pretty much everything now via its direct connection into people's brains.

People decide what they want to pay attention to now, whether it's cable, social media, internet, print, or Real Life.

Trump TV could be the first real effort to begin to build an alternative media to fight the establishment, and may be even better than him winning the election in the long run.

I thought FOX News ( the same ones that implored us all to vote against Obama last election because it was so very close and every vote mattered.) was the first real effort to build an alternative reality media to fight the establishment.

Thatcher said "first you win the argument then you win the election." Trump TV could start the dialogue.
She may have been right. As for Trump TV, it will have to be more than Trump spouting off and a crowd cheering, or people saying "Yes, Mister Trump!" to be a dialogue.

That's actually a good thought. What happens when he loses come this November?

What does he do? Stay in the conversation or go run his business? Fade like Romney, or run again in 4 years....

By "propaganda" do you mean the reporting of actual quotes of his and verifiable facts about him, kinda like they do with all candidates?
