January 6th Investigative Committee made criminal referral (4 counts) against President Donald J. Trump, referred to Justice Department.
  • Conspiracy to defraud the U.S. government
  • Conspiracy to make a false statement
  • Obstruction of Congress
  • Incitement of insurrection

A step at least into public accountability.

Presumably the board Trumpettes will now go silent on the purposely blind "no one has been charged with insurrection" claim. They now have all the way up the chain. Those at the lower level are in the process of being convicted and imprisoned for it. That too needs to go all the way up the chain. This has been a thus-far unsuccessful coup attempt.

A referral is a recommendation, one that has no legal effect.

But it sounds really serious!

“More Witch Hunt Sauce with your Referral?”
One wonders when, if ever, you realize how stupid you have been/are and just stop your nonsense. When Moscow stops sending those checks?

You just emphasize how important it is for Trump to go to prison for this and for you seditionists and domestic terrorists to be routed out and defeated.

Yes, will be interesting to see what DOJ does with it.

There’s still interest out there for Pelosi’s kangaroo court?
You'll never read the report and haven't watched a damn thing they've presented.

Keep your eyes closed. I read the Benghazi report even though it was being presented by what you would consider to be a kangaroo court (if you opposed it). It provided more information and I was able to intelligently refute the bullshit that the right pushed from it....using it.

The Repubs are busy on the internet whining about 'BLM riots', 'Buttunter', 'Buttery males'.

Much the same as a murderer complaining that all the shoplifters in the world should be prosecuted first. It's just so unfair.

jan 6th panel also question the truthfulness of the likes of ivanka, meadows, mcenany, hope hicks and more, with obsevations they believe these people displayed deliberate lapses of memory... specifically, they're questioning the testimony offered by ornato:

The committee alleges former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows made false claims in his book that Trump never intended to travel to the Capitol on Jan. 6. The panel “became increasingly wary that other witnesses might intentionally conceal what happened. That appeared to be the case with Ornato,” according to the executive summary.
“Ornato does not recall that he conveyed the information to Cassidy Hutchinson regarding the SUV, and also does not recall that he conveyed similar information to a White House employee with national security responsibilities who testified that Ornato recalled a similar account to him,” it continues. “The Committee is skeptical of Ornato’s account.”
The panel adds that Ornato “had access” to intelligence about Capitol violence on Jan. 6 but couldn’t recall if he informed Meadows and Trump, even though he was duty-bound to do so. The committee says it has “significant concerns about the credibility of this testimony,” according to the executive summary, and says it will release the transcript of his November interview.

Among the new testimony that was shared by the House panel on Monday is a text from January 6, 2021, between Hicks and former White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley, who told Hicks that Trump "really should tweet something about Being NON-violent."

Around 2:19 p.m. ET that day, Hicks responded: "I'm not there I suggested it several times Monday and Tuesday and he refused."
Hicks also testified to the committee that White House lawyer Eric Herschmann also wanted Trump to put out a statement before January 6 calling for no violence that day—a recommendation he made "directly" to the former president—but that Trump "refused" to do so.

The referrals are based on the sworn testimony of, for the most part, Republican witnesses. That’s gotta sting.

Not just “Republicans”, but TFG’s hand picked squad - aka “All The Best People”.

That’s REALLY gotta sting.

A federal judge has ruled that former Vice President Mike Pence will have to testify before a grand jury in the Justice

Pence would not have to answer questions about his actions on Jan. 6, 2021, when a mob of Trump's supporters stormed the Capitol building as Pence was presiding over a joint session of Congress to certify Democrat Joe Biden's victory. But he would have to testify about any potential illegal acts committed by the former president, one of the people said.

and that seems to nicely step around team pence's objections which argue that:
because he was serving in his capacity as president of the Senate that day, he was protected from being forced to testify under the Constitution's “speech or debate” clause, which is intended to protect members of Congress from questioning about official legislative acts.
however, it's still under seal so time will tell.

Yep, yep, yep and yep.

I hope the DOJ prosecutes every one of those traitors.

They won't. I find it hard to argue that there would be nationwide riots like we haven't seen since the Civil Rights movement and with no way to stop them aside from setting them all free.
