The NYT's has a history of being soft on Communism and has been widely criticized by historians and media scholars for its inadequate and often downplayed coverage of Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust during the 1930s and 1940s.

New Yorkers are falling asleep at the switch. What Mamdani brings to the table is a Trojan horse.

“The DSA’s constitution is frank about the party’s beliefs: “We reject an economic order based on private profit”; it seeks a “social order based on popular control of resources and production” and “economic planning.” Sounds like communism to me!

That's what they're really afraid of, all right. If they really believed he was going to be such a disaster, they'd be cheering him on to win and become mayor of a city they all hate anyway. What scares them is that his unapologetic advocacy for progressive solutions might actually gain some momentum elsewhere.
