Colorado Dem running for president to return campaign donation
from Trump-tied meatpacker owned by Brazilian brothers,
Joesley and Wesley Batista

Contrary to several of his Republican colleagues,
Democratic Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet said Friday
he’s returning a political donation from a meatpacking
company owned by a couple of Brazilian brothers

More than $60 million of American taxpayer money intended
to help struggling U.S. farmers has instead been funneled to
two corrupt Brazilian brothers

New York Daily News New York Daily News @NYDailyNews

As part of the $12 billion bailout for American farmers
getting crushed by Donald Trump's trade war, the
U.S. Department of Agriculture contracted to buy $22.3 million
in pork products from JBS USA,
a Colorado-based subsidiary of Brazil’s JBS SA,
the largest meatpacker in the world.

That contract got attention for obvious reasons, and then the
Daily News obtained two more purchase orders from JBS of $14.5 million
in February and $25.6 million in early May, bringing the total bailout funding
for the meatpacking behemoth to $62.4 million.

All the more reason to keep the government out of the economy and for farmers to stay away from being dependent on government bullshit. :)

Thanks for making the conservative case for capitalism.

The ones pushing for corporate welfare are conservatives.

If the red-state farmers ever actually got what they seem to think they want in terms of laissez-faire capitalism, within five years there probably wouldn't be any of them left.

Then all the Blue State/big city comrades who think their beloved god sate wills food into their driver side window like eating too much for that.

I think they'll come up off some bucks to fill their bellies.
