The point is that if Trump was politically useful for the establishment going forward, they wouldn't be prosecuting him. As they want him kept out of office, anything to increase that likelihood of keeping him out.

I get how someone might think that, but then they move the case to Miami, where Trump has tons of support? And give it to a judge that Trump appointed? There have been so many odd choices.

More support than DeSantis? The RNC establishment would prefer "Trumpism without Trump".

Yes, I gather that is your opinion. He bragged to his buddies about having classified information and literally moved documents around (that didn't belong to him) to hide it from both the government and his own lawyers.
