Trump burns the Trump Presidency to the ground

Trump has bluffed his way through his entire career — and now the coronavirus is taking him out

Trump had been bluffing and losing without consequence for years. For the first half of his life, his father bailed him out. When Dad was gone, Trump kept on bluffing and got so good at it, the banks bailed him out.

Bluffing is what Trump does. He gets up in the morning and looks at himself in the mirror and, instead of a bald man with pitted, sagging skin and lifeless eyes, he sees Mr. Handsome, the swordsman who bedded a thousand beauties, the billionaire who made a thousand brilliant deals, the Most Powerful Man in the World. That’s why at his so-called coronavirus press briefings, whenever he is confronted with a question quoting his own previous statements, he yells, “Fake news!” He bluffs his way through, just like he always did. Everything other than Trump himself is fake. To Trump, only he himself is real.

And that’s why we find ourselves where we are with the coronavirus. For three months, Trump thought he could treat the virus like he treated his bankers, like he treated his contractors, like he treated his wives and girlfriends, like he treated the whole fucking Republican Party. He would bluff his way through. All he had to say was that this building was the tallest and the best, and it was! All he had to say was that he was a billionaire, and he was! All he had to say was that if you crossed him, he’d kill you with tweets, and nobody ever crossed him! All he had to say was that the virus was “going away,” that we had it “under control,” that the number of cases were “going to zero,” and all of that would come true!

Trump could bluff his way through marriages, sexual abuse allegations, bankruptcies … hell, he could even bluff his way into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. But he couldn’t bluff the virus. He doesn’t owe the virus any money. He hasn’t left the virus sobbing in some Reno hotel suite with no one to turn to. He can’t divorce the virus and remarry another, younger, prettier virus. He can’t slather the virus with orange pancake makeup and spray it into submission with swoops of combover cotton candy and fool everyone into believing it wasn’t really there.

Trump bluffed his way through everything else in his entire life, but he has finally tested positive. He’s on life support. He didn’t catch the virus. The virus caught him.

A DEADLY LACK OF LEADERSHIP

This is what it looks like when a crisis of leadership makes its way into our health and our homes, when lack of prudence induces panic, when the president himself cannot be trusted.

The coronavirus pandemic changes the view of Donald Trump’s incompetence, because this time it is intimate. This time what’s at stake isn’t abstract in the mind of the average American, like constitutional law or international relations. It is not far away, like families at the border or Nazis in Charlottesville. It is not about carnal and craven acts that take place between two people or are committed by one against another, like assaulting women or paying them off.

No, this is about all of us and all the things closest to us: our health and safety, our children and parents, our ability to move freely and sleep soundly, our ability to go to work and send our children to school. This is about our ability to participate in America’s two great religious non-religions: politics and sports.

This crisis is transcendent, which makes Trump’s disastrous approach to dealing with it all the more transparent.

The Trump administration finally appears to be taking this crisis seriously, after months of Trump himself trivializing and politicizing it. The virus was never a hoax or a media creation or a flash in the pan that would affect few and miraculously vanish.

But Trump, the supposed leader of the country, wasted precious time — weeks and weeks — telling the American public just that, while not taking the drastic measures that the government is now, belatedly, taking.

That puts lives in danger, and surely, in the end, will have cost lives.

America needs a leader; it has a lout.

In some ways Andrew Cuomo has become America’s de facto president as Trump has abandoned his responsibilities when it comes to America’s National Security and saving American lives. Cuomo is doing a lot of the important work that Trump should be doing

Let's not confuse competence and hard work for absolute leadership. Cuomo and Newsom are just two of the Governors that are doing their jobs. So Good Job guys, but you have to be elected President, (they say.)

Sadly we have only a PeeResident fumble fucking his way thru his fantasy world. His sanity in question and the Rethug's following him off the cliff, in pursuit of Mammon.

The fun part is that Donald Trump seems to realize this--as hard as he tries not to.

You'd just be aping previously written text.

Besides, with exceptions, humanity did not emanate from a monkey's ass. Diseases most certainly can be attributed - in part - to a monkey's ass but not humanity.

I'm all for Trump getting out and having lots of rallies.

I agree with you but I think his rallies should be in a nursing home where the residents have tested positive.

Instead of rallying at nursing homes President Trump could just do one on the Joe Biden campaign bus. Kinda the same thing, they say.

Different economic classes see different Americas, presidents, and threats to their own lives, families, and communities.

The correct reply from Alexander should have been :"and I say you're a terrible president, now will you answer the question for the American people"?

Thousands of Americans have died. Thousands more are dying, the hospitals are overwhelmed and the bodies of dead Americans are being buried in mass graves. And what's Trump's response?

He's encouraging and validating the idiotic protesters who want to reopen their states even as deaths from COVID-19 continue to surge.

You're right. He is a terrible president. Americans are dying in huge numbers and he just doesn't give a damn.

your all fucking nut cases

Have you look at a nut case since you combed your hair in the mirror...time for you to be installed in that great hall of shame I call the "Lit Ignore Feature", rest assured your comments have and always will mean nothing....:D

Trump’s COVID-19 ‘bleach gambit’ may have been the moment his supporters finally realize that he’s dumber than they thought.

Apparently it hasn't worked with the board Trumpettes. Of course, they may be dumber than the usual Trump supporter (as hard as that is to do).

The bleach bit is population control for the anti-abortion crowd.

Nervous Republicans See Trump Sinking, and Taking Senate With Him

Trump’s erratic handling of the coronavirus outbreak, the worsening economy and a cascade of ominous public and private polling have Republicans increasingly nervous that they are at risk of losing the presidency and the Senate if Mr. Trump does not put the nation on a radically improved course.

The scale of the G.O.P.’s challenge has crystallized in the last week. With 26 million Americans now having filed for unemployment benefits, Mr. Trump’s standing in states that he carried in 2016 looks increasingly wobbly: New surveys show him trailing significantly in battleground states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, and he is even narrowly behind in must-win Florida.

THE BUCK STOPS NOWHERE NEAR TRUMP

Trump said he takes no responsibility for a spike in cases of people misusing disinfectants, even though he pushed the idea of injecting them as a treatment for coronavirus just last week.

When asked Monday about the increase of people in some states ingesting disinfectants Trump answered: "I can't imagine why."

When pressed about whether he takes any responsibility, Trump said, "No, I don't."

When President Truman was in the White House, his motto was "the buck stops here", basically meaning he took all responsibility for any actions taken by the White House, the armed forces or the federal government. He took responsibility for everything.

With Trump in the White House, the motto is much more like, "The buck stops nowhere near me. I'm gonna pass the buck to Barack Obama, or Hillary Clinton, or Joseph Biden, or the Kurds, or the Mexicans, or the Canadians, or CNN, or anybody else I can think of, but I will never take responsibility for any of my own actions!|

Anybody who has been watching Trump for any amount of time knows that Trump refuses to take responsibility for his own actions.

During Trump's first year in office, he very publicly refused to accept responsibility for the foolhardy special operations raid in Yemen that resulted in the death of Navy SEAL Chief Petty Officer Ryan Owens.

Never mind the fact that Trump personally approved and ordered this flawed raid, when things went bad, it was the fault of the military — not Trump.

“This was a mission that was started before I got here. This was something they wanted to do,” Trump said. “They came to me, they explained what they wanted to do ― the generals ― they lost Ryan.”

GOP is starting to realize that Trump’s spin is collapsing under the weight of reality

Paul Waldman contends that Republicans are starting to realize that spinning President Trump’s faults can only go so far, and that spin will eventually collapse under the “weight of reality” — and that reality could bring them down with it in 2020.

“There are some things you can’t explain away, like 56,000 Americans dead (so far) from the coronavirus, an administration response that has been chaotic and incompetent, and a president whose communication about the pandemic has been so uninformed and embarrassing that his own aides are trying to figure out how to keep his mouth shut,” Waldman writes.

Republicans who have their own elections to contend with “are wondering if they can slowly back away from the president and his stench of failure.”

I'm no expert on ancient roman history but I see certain similarities between impeached president trump and Caligula.
How long before impeached president trump appoints his horse to the senate? Or is that role already being filled by Moscow Mitch.
Also, I reckon that impeached president trump will leave office the same way Caligula did, murdered by his bodyguard. Some patriot in the Secret Service will take him out.

Politics aside.

Slow Joe raped a woman.

Any comments? Or just let it slide by?

History and the boards will record your posts.

Trump has appointed his daughter and son-in-law to high-level jobs in the administration. Jared and Ivanka have been granted high-level security clearances as well as shocking amounts of power and influence in the federal government, despite the fact that they're utterly unqualified. They have absolutely no relevant skills, knowledge or experience.

This is basically the equivalent of Caligula appointing his horse to the senate.

As I thought.

No defense.

Fucking lib tards.

Who gives a fuck about Biden? But... At least he's not a moronic narcissist. All hour presidents are sex offenders of one sort or another. Hell even Hilary was into child sex dlave trade.
