And honestly, things good be a million times worse. I could be one of the many from Louisiana. I think any number of those people could use the PPB more than me.

NG - it was more than great to see you post - we really miss having you around. And it sounds like you could use a little of TC's TLC. Life sucks sometimes and there are basically 2 things you can do about any situation; change the situation or change the way you think about the situation. If you are spending too much time alone, then find something to do. Didn't you say you were an artist? Maybe something like volunteering to teach art to inner city (do they still use that term?) kids could satisfy at number of levels. The work thing is a personal choice; I worked 15 years in a field I wasn't overly fond of because the $$$ was just to good to pass up. But some forced down time brought a good deal of reflecting time. And for me, the $$$ was a pretty dumb reason for me to give away my time....my time that was being spent doing something I didn't like.....time that I would never get back.

Venting is good! And most times it's all that's needed, just the release of a little steam......sometimes one needs a bit more, say locking yourself in the bathroom and screaming into a very thick bath towel

I got a notice about the things the Red Cross are in need of and one of the items on the list was water buffalo
I have no idea what they need those for (someone thought maybe it was a water dispenser - I dunno). But I can tell you everybody and their brother is now jumping on the "Help the survivors" band wagon, plenty of help pouring in. Best thing at this point is to hold off the urge to write out a fat check; wait till all the media hype dies down then look for a worthy organization to give it to. These people are going to need help long after they are no longer news worthy.

Biopsy likely tomorrow, will be admitted for 23hr observation post-op. They are hoping to just be able ot make an incision in my neck above my sternum (breastbone) and slip a scope down to retrieve tissue from the nodes.
I'd let the surgeon work on my daughter.
I'll post when I get home again.
