Hmmm ... this seems to be a very bad habit that the folks here have ... working on holidays! IL, Fiesty ... I hope that it wasn't a complete waste of a 3 day weekend for either of you! (it wasn't for me!!). Other than being uncommonly muggy for Colorado, it was wonderful weekend weather wise and I managed to both get my household chores done, and have to just lounge about and read!1fiestyredhead said:

Okay ... time for a real, honest-to-god confession:
* I've had my current avatar ... since I was allowed to have an avatar over five years ago. It's time to change.
* It's time to change ... or maybe time is changing
* to those who know me well ... it will *not* be one you might have spied an alter ego wearing some ... err ... (jeez!) years ago.
Well it's not a confession that'll have anybody hot and bothered (I think I've already posted just about every embarrassing event that even *I* care to remember or dwell on!) ... but after 5 years with a single avatar (excepting the well under 1% of the time), it's not exactly a lame duck either!

I confess it is going to take me awhile to get used to your new look. It would appear that I'm pretty much a stick in the mud when it comes to change - even my furniture is still in the same spot where I placed it 10 years ago
Why is it that the only constant in the universe is change?

Well, I figure that if I keep posting fairly often, y'all will get used to it. It's actually one I used on some other forums for a bit now. The artwork itself is almost 30 years old, drawn by Michael Whelan. If you at all a fan of science fiction and fantasy you have probably seen his work before, probably several times. He has done the cover art for over 350 books and magazines and has won 16 Hugo awards (sci-fi/fantasy's equivalent of the Oscars). ... (and since I just looked this up I have to admit being startled mightily ... I knew I liked his work and had seen it in many places ... but I had no idea just how prolific and well-thought of he was!1fiestyredhead said:It's nice to see a little life around here!
