Tried to update Storm & Stone chapter 1, submitted the first time on the 11/25/18. On the 27th, I got a rejection because of a duplicate. The explanation was vague, citing only that I needed to tell you what to do with the story comments section to moderators. I did that, resubmitted the same day with clarification. A week passed and nothing. No word, nothing. Deleted the old submission and started with a fresh submission on Tuesday that had EDITED in the title as per the help section instructions and messaged Manu on Tuesday as well... nothing yet.

Can we get this resolved?

Nobody on this forum can assist. You need to send a (polite) PM to Laurel (not Manu). She is the site editor, no-one else.

Your post is a little confusing. To edit an already published story, you need to submit your edited text with exactly the same title plus EDIT, and a Note to the Editor. Whatever you did the first time around (to get the rejection notice) is further confused by your doubled up resubmissions.

Regardless, your clock was reset Tuesday, so a PM to Laurel should break it loose. I had a new story fall off the table - after a week I sent a query email to Laurel, it went live the next midnight server run. Glitches happen. Don't expect a status email though, Laurel won't see the edit until she's processing it.

She got a PM on thursday. No word, no posting, no rejection, no anything since. I knew the clock was reset, I knew it would be reset when I did it. I reposted it because things get lost in the shuffle, because the resubmit was ignored for a week, and finally because I found the part in the help section that I referred to.

and as per the link at the end of this sentence, we are told to put EDITED, not EDIT... http://literotica.com/faq/05235347.shtml#05313767

I still dont have a reply from pming her for finishing second on the halloween contest over 5 weeks ago.

Laurel is almost never on anymore and stories are.taking up to 8 days for release.

Something is going on... but no idea what.

Nine and counting for me so far, made my second and last attempt at submitting the edits on the 4th. Sent Laurel a second PM today, let's see if something happens.

11 days and counting from my last submission of the chapter. The first attempt doesn't even matter anymore at this point.

Just to cover a base that's been the root of this problem many times before:

When you look at your submission page, is the submission under the Pending folder, or the Drafts folder?

If it's showing up under drafts, then it's never been submitted. You need to go to the folder, click on the submission, click on preview at the bottom, then scroll to the end of the preview, and click submit.

The Edit notation you use isn't really important. It's there to distinguish the submission from the original, because you can't use the same exact title for two submissions. So long as it's anything resembling edit, you're good.

Nope, ran into that problem when I first submitted it and couldn't figure out why it wasn't saying pending. lol. Took me a minute, sitting there going "I know the submit button is here, where did it go?"

It's up, now. Thanks to Laurel, or whichever staffer/mod got it taken care of.

Laurel. She's the only one dealing with all the submissions.

It probably fell into the cracks the first time. That's something that they're trying to figure out since installing the new infrastructure. Viewing the submission, and saving changes resets the position in the queue, which so far has always worked. Whatever weird conditions cause a submission to no show up in Laurel's dashboard appear to be rare. ( though, obviously, not rare enough ) Your chances of the bug hitting you back to back are slim.

Edits have a lower priority than new work, and the Winter contest with all its associated sweeps, etc. were happening, so that's probably why it took such a long time for your edit to go through.
