Being Rich meant it bought you everything in the world, though not many people thought it was right. Being rich you got tax breaks, you could buy anything that you felt like it. The poor and middle class hated the rich who pretty much owned everything, leaving the poor, middle class and the hungry to starve. Not much respect for people like that in the city, accept perhaps among there own kind. And when it came down to it, there was one in particular that found it rather annoying. She thought everyone should be equal, not play god with money.

Detective Emily Wolf was the kind of girl you didn't want to fuck with. She was young but highly intelligent. The people she worked with hated her, she knew that being a detective you had to wait years for. But because of her being the youngest cop, and the brains behind a lot. She didn't really care what they thought in the least. Not even her partner liked her, which was okay with her. And part of the reason they hated her was because of her father. Her father was the commissioner, and he had say over everything.

Though Emily didn't exactly trust her father, she knew that the rich owned him as much as the rich owned the city. Which annoyed her, they had always struggled with money. Ever since her mother died when she was seven years old of cancer. She knew that one day her father brought home a lot of money, and then knew even at the age of seven. That he had been taking bribes. Though being young and his kid, she couldn't exactly go talk about it to anyone. So she didn't talk to anyone, even her partner didn't want to work with her.

But as she was working at her desk her father came to her, saying there was a 2.11 which meant a robbery and she tilted her head. She asked why she should care, she was a homicide detective not someone who worried about that shit. Come to find out the rich man who was supposedly robbed was a close friend of him. So she hung her head and just nodded, slowly standing up she put her gun in her holster and walked over to her partner. But he couldn't go, said he had to take his wife to the doctors.

All the men sucked and she just grabbed her key and went to the car and got in, heading to the main area of the city she drove up and parked outside. Her grey eyes could see the huge house, her black hair lay relaxed on her back. As she walked up and rang the bell. And was asked to come in, her figure was very curvy and beautiful. She turned around seeing the man and forced a smile. She so didn't want to be here, but she didn't have a choice in the matter. This whole thing sucked.

"Detective Emily Wolf, you called in about a robbery?"

She asked. She was wearing a black pant suite, black pants with high black heels though not the small thin heels but like army boots, and a black shirt with a black long leather jacket. She didn't know if she wanted to get to know this guy, she figured her partner was probably corrupted as well. Emily thought most of the people in the police station were dirty, and she wanted to drag down everyone who was dirty. But figured that would never ever happen, her father being the head of everything. But she just looked at the man before her.

He nodded, “yes we did put in a call detective Wolf, but you won’t be dealing with me.”
He indicated to an area just behind her and a striking lady stepped forward into Emily’s eye line. Emily had definitely never seen anything like her before, she would have been considered pure perfection, flawless skin, perfect hourglass figure. In fact she was probably too perfect and it was kind of unnerving.
“Your coat miss,” the girl said holding out her hand.
Before Emily could say anything, handsome man who had opened the door spoke up.
“My employer insists, he is a very influential man and it is for his own safety.”
It was only her coat and Emily knew how the rich insisted on such trivial things so she started to remove it.
“In fact we will require your firearm as well, during your visit.”
Emily turned to the man, “no way, I am a police officer and cannot legally surrender my firearm.”
“We insist,” the man continued, “and what is this?” he indicated to her when the girl had finally removed her coat. “You were told to dress in a specific way.”
It was only then that Emily noticed that the girl wore a tight white dress that stopped mid thigh and had a plunging neckline.
She also then remember when her father had asked her to go on this assignment he had wanted to tell her something but she had stormed off with a dismissive ‘yes commissioner’ barely paying attention to his words. She had also remembered the snickers from the guys in the precinct and the whispers about ‘Emily getting what she deserved.’
“I was meant to dress how?”
The man stopped as if listening to a silent communication.
“It is alright Detective, you can keep your firearm.”
“This way please,” he walked off towards a hallway.
“I am glad you are agreeing to help with this detective,” the girl said as Emily started to follow, “it is very important to me.”
The detective didn’t have time to ask her what she meant as she had already disappeared through another door and the man who had greeted her was waiting impatiently for her.

They walked through down a long passage and through a few larger rooms before coming to a door.
“Detective,” the man said opening the door for her, “my employer Mr. Daniel Williams is waiting inside for you.”
She entered and heard the door close behind her. She could make out the figure of a man seated behind a desk but the shadows obscured his features.
Walking across the room she could hear that he was busy with a conversation with someone via a hidden neural link.
As she neared the desk the man stood and continuing with his conversation indicated for her take a seat in the chair opposite him.
“Those are my terms Mr. Mayor, if you wish to be reelected you will have to abide by them.”
He looked at Emily, “in fact your needless negotiations have upset me and they have changed.”
Emily could see that he was a middle aged man, perhaps almost twice her age though with modern medicines and enough money it was easy to disguise how old you actually were. But despite that the man did not look young and the graying around his temples showed he was at least middle aged. His had decent features and was probably considered by some to be handsome.
The man settled down once Emily had taken her seat and continued with his conversation.
“You will make place in the budget, for better pension for deceased police officers. In fact you will pass a bill that will ensure all such families get free housing and education. I know you have the money in the budget, remember I know how much you skim off the top. If you consent to this you will be mayor for another term, if not I am sure your successor will do a fine job. Now I am tired of talking to you, so you can send your daughter to my house tomorrow if you agree, and she better make a good impression…Yes I know she just turned eighteen. Good day.”
He turned to Emily and smiled, “Morning Detective, I see either you or your father does not follow instructions very well.”

Emily had no idea what to expect and right now she was some what worried. She had rushed out of the office before her father could stop her and tell her what to do, she just heard Robbery and knew that something was very wrong. But her partner didn't even want to come, which meant either her partner wanted her to fail or he just didn't like this place. She looked back at her car for a moment, then when she was invited in she smiled a bit giving up her coat. But then her gun? she shook her head.

"Sorry rules I am not giving you my gun, take it or leave it"

She said simply, if he didn't like her for it she didn't give a shit. The more she heard these people talk, the more she realized what she was getting into. Then hearing the name, she swallowed hard but didn't let her worry and doubt show on her face. She was the master of her own emotions, and as she walked she placed her hand on her hip. Scanning the man before her, cocking her head to the side. And she wanted to laugh about how to dress.

"Sorry Mr. Williams but I am not a barbie doll, father didn't tell me anything. Course I also didn't let him talk to me, I heard Robbery and here I am. I wasn't going to go home and dress a certain way, and if you gave me that order myself. I would have to question your honesty about being robbed. And I don't think you want that do you? I am one of the best, I maybe the youngest but that means nothing. Age are just numbers that can hide potential of some people. Like me" She said.

No one was going to tell her how to dress, and if they did she would turn around and walk right out. He didn't seem upset about the robbery and looking at how he was sitting, he seemed relaxed. Emily could read people much like those in the field can, there was a field of people that could tell when someone is mad, sad that kind of thing. She learned a little from those people, by reading there books. Looking for his ticks, she wanted to leave. With her hand on her hip, she was quick to draw her gun if need be.

"Well I will forgive the indiscretion now, you can make up for it during dinner later."
He poured a drink.
"Detective there has been a robbery that you must solve, and the quicker you solve it the quicker you can leave the mansion."
Before she could object he raised a hand.
"You will be well cared for, all your needs seen to and if you find the culprit, who is obviously amongst my staff, you will be the new commissioner, which will surely allow you to implement the changes you are so keen to see happen in he department."

She was taken back by all this, before she could even breath he raised his hand and she looked at him with a confused look. And was taken back that she was going to stay there, it was so nuts and looking down she placed her hand on he forehead. "So my father is in your pocket then, which means you own the whole police department. What makes you so sure I am any good, I am a homicide detective." Her voice turned respectful as she sat there rather confused by all of this still.

"Emily, I know you are good enough to solve this crime. The question is are you willing to do anything to stop the corruption in the department."
He smiled.
"Yes the department is in my pocket, so is the mayor, actually anyone who has any say. Then I heard about you, an idealistic detective who woudn't accept bribes and corruption. So I thought I would give her a chance and here it is."
He stood.
"If you wish to you can leave, if you stay, then it is my rules," he squeezed her shoulder lightly as he walked past.
"If you solve the crime you become commissioner and you get a promise that no more corruption involving my people."
She hard the door open and him leaving.
"Excuse me detective, am I to escort you to the door or your room?"
It was the man who had originally shown her to the office.

She looked at him hearing everything that he said to her, unsure what to do at the moment. And if he owned everyone worth owning then what would be the point? corruption was the rule of the department" She sighed a little bit and feeling a hand on her shoulder, watching him and slowly stood up. Walking to the window she looked up at the sky, her Grey eyes looked rather sad in that moment. Her grey eyes looking around, unsure if she could do it. But most importantly she didn't know if she should help him.

But then the voice came to her and asked if she would be needed an escort to the front door or the room. She had decided what she was going to do, looking back over to the two men. And knew if she didn't do anything she would end up regretting it, so looking at the man who hired her or wanted to hire her and she gave her answer looking at him still. "My room please" She looked at the man who was to escort her. "Though I do have a bag I need brought in, it has everything I will need. Feel free to look in it if that is one of the rules I need to get use to around here" She smiled.
