Keeping their government in line is the job of the citizens of those countries. BUT, instead of doing their job, they run away in droves to come here ILLEGALLY and then lie to gain entrance.

The dysfunctional governments in Central and South America have perennially blamed the US for their self-inflicted problems. And there are more than a few SFB citizens of the US that have bought into their sob stories hook, line, and sinker.

If you look back through the history of those governments you find that the citizens voted for exactly what they got. Trump did not create the situation nor is he obligated to fix it. Let the unskilled, uneducated, and unhealthy go back and live with what they asked for. Maybe they'll wise up and put their own house in order as they should.

Worse than doing nothing constructive - they have been destructive. We had an immigration bill through the Senate and the 40 members of the Freedum Cuckus stopped it in the House. They are why Boehner resigned. They are why Ryan resigned. They are why the GOP lost the House, along with Tiny.

The Monroe Doctrine was all about European powers NOT taking over South/Central American nations. The purpose was to avoid being caught up in their perpetual squabbles and had nothing to do with us taking responsibility. It was an effort to allow the 'new' world nations to go their own way.

The hope was that those nations would more or less follow the US model, in reality the Patron' system was so deeply ingrained that they still haven't overcome it.
