Troll Uptick?

Is it just me or has there been an uptick in trolling in the New Stories section? It looks like a slight one and only in the past few days it seems. Just curious.

Yeah, I had more than usual on my latest one. It seems to come and go in waves. The good thing is the recent "uptick" as you call it seems limited to the first day after that my regulars start chiming in and the score gets up and over the troll damage.

Most likely because the Earth day contest is winding down and they're sweeping.

The Web site has a formula (unknown to the users) to identify what it considers as illegitimate votes, and it periodically sweeps the story collection (more often during contest times such as we now are in) and deletes those votes.

my poor story got bombed early and hasn't recovered. With 11 votes, 9 votes have been a 4 or 5, 2 have been a 1 or 2. Those two, appearing in the first 7 votes, killed the rating. end whine.
