For your amusement--stories about hunting trolls:

The Troll Hunter

Witching Hour

They were written a while back, just for this reason.

Great writing! Will the trolls ever know how stupid they appear in print? Will they ever know they are embarrassing themselves every time they post, or vote a one? At least, with these stories, we can laugh about their ignorance.

Will they ever care? Not likely.

I don't think it works that way. I think the trolls enjoy seeing people go ballistic over what they've done, knowing that there's nothing the people can do about it other than reveal how upset it makes them. I don't think they are even slightly embarrassed about a thread like this--or that they connect the concept of "ignorance" with any of this.

I think you're right, and I know why. It's because they all have tiny little dicks, and they're so used to being bullied and ridiculed, they know of no other way to relate to people except to do the same thing. I think the solution for all these poor misunderstood trolls would be for them to climb into bed with their mothers and get the lovin' they've been denied. I mean, is a mother going to complain if her poor little troll son his a tiny dick? Is she going to ask him if he's put it in yet, because she can't feel it? Of course not.
Perhaps the trolls should have their own forum, where they could post pictures of their MILF moms. Then they'd be so busy checking out all the hot MILF's of all their little-dicked buddies, they wouldn't have time to one-bomb LIT stories.

"It's because they all have tiny little dicks"

Seems a sweeping false generalization. Observation here indicates to me that a good many of them are female.

How disconcerting, to be faced with the floating turds of truth. I will readjust my view of trolls to include females, but it's not a pleasing image.

On the plus side, if we continue to refer to them as male in gender, we achieve the unintended result of insulting all the females of the group, and this would be a good thing.

Actually, I have a feeling he is referring to some of the females who post on the boards.

(Didn't see that until you quoted him.)

A troll is an anonymous being, usually dispensing 1 bombs without comment. Sometimes they'll drop 1's all along your stories - usually these are found and removed by Laurel.

Sometimes trolls will dispense lovely "helpful" comments with the 1-bombs, critique such as - "You suck!" and "You Cunt!" and other niceties.

Trolls have no gender, I believe.

They do live under bridges, grow copious amounts of body hair, they never bathe or brush their teeth and they are quite fond of their toenail fungus farm.

Actually, I was referring to those who vote and leave comments on stories. There's no way of knowing how this set overlaps with either authors of stories on the site or posters on the discussion board (which also overlap).

A lot of the negative voting going on is obviously by females as much (if not more--I'm willing to bet that more females vote and comment on stories here than males do) as males--to the point of that those who attach male gender to it are slipping into gender bashing.

Using emasculating comments in any context is just that--gender bashing. And male emasculation isn't one iota better than misogyny. (Is it?) If you do it--even unintentionally--you aren't on any higher ground than male posters who post misogyny--even unintentionally. (Are you?)

I believe there are two groups that deserve any kind of bashing: trolls, and the Bush administration. Granted, stooping to their level (name-calling, fear-mongering, lying, gender-bashing, etc.) could be considered demeaning, but if it's done with a sense of humor, I believe it's perfectly acceptable - especially since there is no 'higher ground' with this bunch.

"I believe there are two groups that deserve any kind of bashing: trolls, and the Bush administration."

I'd think it would be better to double up on the bashing of the Bush administration--because there's hope of getting a satisfactory return on that.

You're more of an optimist than I thought. The Bush administration appears to be even more stubborn and clueless than the trolls, with the American public coming in a close second.

I get your earlier point about gender-bashing. I just think if satire had to be PC, it wouldn't exist.

who cares?

I'm fascinated by people who send me emails saying in the next chapter they want "his wife to join in," "an orgy to begin," etc, etc, etc. Then they send an angry email when the next chapter does not contain their demands. Thanks but no thanks, insects. I write my stories as I please. If you like them, fine. If not, who cares?

Others are amusing when they say (somehow thinking I care) that they have "given me a low score" because my story should have been in X, Y, or Z category. What morons. Do they think I get money for these submissions and therefore worry about negative reaction? I delete all negative comments -- they don't get space in my projects.

I got one saying he (she?) really liked my story until I touched on the subject of incest, "which really offends me." A thousand pardons, oh, pure-minded one! Since then I have made a point to include incest in every gay story.

Another idiot emailed me saying "My father was a coxswain in WWII! You deride the name!" I have to give him credit -- he signed his username. I replied to him that a coxswain is nothing sacred. Even garbage-scows and alien-smuggling death-ships have coxswains. And one more thing: "to deride" means "to scold." Sorry, pal. Hope you don't feel -- "demeaned."

Literotica is not a stage on which I am performing for applause. I write the stories and post them because I want to. Simple as that. I truly don't care if they are liked or disliked.

if the negative comments don't bother you, then why delete them and leave only the positive?

Yep, Coxswain. I love the comments that they loved the story and it was hot but that they think I should make the following thirty-four changes in the storyline. Like that would be a different story--and it would be their story, not mine, which they jolly well could write themselves.

The wrong category slam (accompanied by a zero rating and a "1" vote) is also a favorite of mine. It happened with a story that was put in a different category than where I submitted it. I also love the "no means no" and "this should be in nonconsent" comments on some of my Gay Male stories.

First, "no" doesn't mean no in the gay male world in any sense as it does in the straight world. The "no" game is one of the arousal techniques in the gay male world--and if the guy has placed himself in the position to be taken . . . If he really means "no," he'll stand up and sock the other guy in the mouth and walk off. Comments like this usually means the reader should be reading someplace else altogether (or has taken it upon him/herself to be the arbitrator of interest for everyone else on the planet).

And, second (on the "this gay male story should have been in another category"), there's only one gay male category here. You don't put a gay male nonconsent story in the "nonconsent" category or a gay male horror story in the "horror" category simply because the primary readers of the story aren't going to go there to read it. You put the story where the readers are.

Coxswain can certainly answer this for himself, but the answer seems fairly obvious. You irritate the negative poster when you wipe away his/her negative comment. If you go on the forum and rail against her/him instead, he/she get kicks a second time because you are showing that the action has hurt you and also that you can't do a thing about it. Given the choice of the two actions, the erasure technique seems the best/most satisfying response to the attack. You come here and rail about the injustice of it all, and you'll have twice as many trolls on your back tomorrow morning.

then why don't you let him answer for himself? Resist the urge, sr, I know you can do it. I wasn't addressing you.

I neither delete the bad comments, nor "rail against her/him" on the forum. I just don't care what "trolls" have to say. The only comments I've ever deleted are those not related to the story, such as "you suck, bitch," which, on second thought, I should have left up, since it's both true, and amusing.

I explicitly said he'd probably want to comment for himself. But I had an opinion regardless of what his is and gave it--while spicifically saying I wasn't answering for him. I've never seen you wait until you were directly addressed to express your opinion, Cloudy--without the polite note that you aren't answering for the one addressed that I gave.

I know it comes as a shock to you, but you don't own this forum or set its rules--you only try to hog it and put it on the high school clique level.

No, not trying to hog it, just trying my damnedest to ignore you, no matter how much you jump and scream and try to get my attention, that's all.

Oh, wait...does snook'ums have a crush????

:D

"just trying my damnedest to ignore you"

Oh, p-h-l-u-z-ee, Cloudy. You've been following me around the forum for two weeks making pot shots at me. Don't play so stupid.

We can have an interesting discussion on this thread--with or without your silly games. If you want to participate, fine. If not, that's your cross to bear.

Stop replying to me, then. I hadn't replied to you at all in days until you wanted to answer a question I specifically addressed to someone else. Stop being a know-it-all who has all the answers, even when not asked, and we'll be fine. Put me on your ignore list - please.

You can stop pulling my braids now, honey. I see you.
