Troll filter needed

Dude, before I commented, I read a couple of your stories and the reason you are giving it away for free is because nobody would pay for them. They weren't terrible mind you, but they weren't marketable either, ya know?

As for ratings and positive/negative comments from a READER ONLY's standpoint: the votes are your applause. Positive comments are like a standing ovation and negative ones are throwing rotten fruit at you. I will politely clap for most performances, but rarely will I be arsed enough to comment either way. Most of the time I wasn't moved enough to give a shit. When I am I'd expect you to listen. (and of course we all know there ARE asshats that just love to troll and expound their ignorance but those are always easy to identify).

BTW, as long as I'm ranting at writers ;) , stop your bitching about not getting all 5's on every one of your stories. Frankly, most of the stuff here rates a 2 or 3 at best, so be thankful for your 3's and 4's.

Bottom line of this whole rant, I guess, is that I believe the quality of the average Lit reader is superior to the average Lit writer. That only makes sense, in my case anyways, cuz I've read thousands of stories and, at best, you as a writer have written a few dozen.

LMAO!!!!!

I agree with some of your points. But it works both ways. There are some good authors here and some piss poor ones. By the same token there are readers who have some taste and some looking just to whack off. It's a blend.

As for your comment about the average reader being better than the average author. An author can read, but can the reader write? Readers come here seeking the stories (but to be fair we come here looking to see what readers think, again it's a mix)

I started writing incest stories here because I was tired of reading "sis has tits wow!" and figured I could do better.

Sage advice.

Not-so-sage advice.

*shakes head* The better writers are also avid readers. That's how they learn a style and develop their own.

The worse writers, yes, don't read enough.

The process of good writing draws upon an exponentially large amount of previous reading.

Take you're own impressive list of poetry...I trust that you also read poetry? And have probably read more poetry than you've written?

It's incomparable to state that a writer has only written 12 stories while a reader has read 1000 stories, so therefore the reader is..."better"?

Better how? Then why aren't they writing their own?

No. A writer having actually completed 12 stories often indicates that they've probably read a great deal more than the "average" reader. Often enough that I wouldn't buy that "bottom line" with a train-track penny.

Nope. Apples and oranges, hon. If a writer reads more (and more critically) than the average Lit reader, that just makes them a better reader, IMO.

I am a VERY good reader with discriminating, eclectic tastes. I STILL can't write for shit! (all those poems & stories are my late wife's, BTW. I've kept her account in memory of her = I'm Amy).

Now I'm not debating that most writers are avid, discriminating readers or that reading other styles can't improve your own, but the proof of the pudding is in the quality of the writing (which for the most part sucks).

It's easy for someone who only reads (or claims to ) to denigrate a writer. They are clueless on what writing requires. And in cases like this, they are outrageously (and typically) freakishly arrogant about it. Some even are too cowardly to create their own account to slather the forum with their over-the-top freakishness. Pffft.

Egotistical much, you two asshats?

Oh, wait... This is the point where you say you "write only to please yourselves and the readers don't count!", right???? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Bullshit!

P.S. it's nice to see you are your normal pissy, foot stompy, little self, SR. What's the matter? Your big, mean wifey take your make believe toy plane away? (or did she leave another dead cat in your bed for you to cuddle up with??? [which I thought was a VERY nice touch, BTW])

You've got to be the champion of all drones. Not only do you do nothing here but bitch freakishly, but you also can't even do it with your own account. :D

I agree with the learning to write by reading thing, but reading literotica stories in the hope it will make you a better writer is like eating out of a dumpster in the hope it will make you a gourmet chef.

We are egotistical? You're basically saying that the stories here suck because you think they suck.

And what does being an being an avid reader give you? It's all still your opinion. If you and I read the same book you might say it sucks I might say its good. Reading is subjective.

and at the end of thew day talk is cheap. You thin k the stories here suck? Wow us. wrote one, put it up there.

You're just a very mean spirited person aren't you?

Such a nonsensical sweeping generalization isn't like you. A story isn't trash simply because it appears on Literotica--any more than eating in a gourmet restaurant will protect you from the risk of a subsequent night of the trots.

SPIRIT is the key word. As SAFE BET is dead we must make allowances for her disability.

Now now.. calm down people.

I made this thread for trollbashing, not bashing each other. Now kiss and make nice.

If you can find some of the better stories I believe it can. If nothing else it can do what it did for me, , make me say "Hell, I can do better than that!"

In motivation it is all about whatever gets you off your ass.

Anyone exposed to fairy tales and Mother Goose knows how to write a story. A joke is a story.

What people lack is experience and their own viewpoint. When a writer is able to boil it down to a novel punchline, then theyre a writer.
