Still don't know who...or which country activated them...
You should read more.
...I am quite confident ...
Question 1)
Why would our military own these IPs in the first place? Surely they weren't purchased to sell at a later point for profit. What can they be used for?
Question 2)
What is the purpose of our military? I doubt it is for the buying and selling of IPs.
Question 3)
How did a "new" start up company get the clout to get an inside track to buying these IPs? Why weren't they auctioned off if they weren't required?
Question 4)
Which country...which leader...benefits from having these IPs available?
Question 5)
Is our military stronger or weaker by not being able to manipulate the internet?
I don't need answers...I am quite confident I know the answers. Do you?
Dribble. Until you find out who owns and who controls this "private" company, you will know nothing. And you are not going to find out.![]()
Did you read the article on the subject???
While the headline is designed to attract clicks, the substance in the body of the article is pretty clear that there is a legitimate reason why the status of the IP addresses was changed and outsourced to Global Resource systems, and it was primarily to aide the DOD in their offensive and defensive cyber warfare efforts.
It appears to be a legitimate national security operation, which means Trump had nothing to do with it.
*nods*
I have not seen any legitimate reason given. If there is...then I will stop and apologize. These IPs were obtained for very specific defense reasons. Moving them...without Legislators knowing it would happen? Those legislators on our security panels need to say "We knew and approved". Only then...is the article click bait.
We have had 2 elections where Russia has openly interfered. Russia also got 6 months of open access to our most secure servers...including our military. Is this a way to break that access? Fine. I am ok with that. Again, all someone has to do is say this made us safer.
There are 2 sides of a coin. You flip it...you don't know if it will be heads or tails. Same thing here...until someone says this was an acceptable move...you have to look at the other side of the coin...a new company is hosting more IPs than the largest prior host company, ATT and Comcast, and it was done as a favor to a donor. This only makes sense to question
This was very entertaining.![]()
