Crazy how those movies can make the manliest of men cry. The first time I heard Jesse sing, "When Somebody Loved Me," I cried uncontrollably...

I didn't think they'd have any story to continue with after the third, but pixar has my trust. Though I would find it pretty hilarious if they did end up killing the characters this time around.

Man I am so on the fence over Childs Play.
The original doesn't really hold up that well so on the one hand a remake is understandable. But then the odds of them making a good or better film are slim and none and I saw slim packing his bags recently.
But I'm still hopeful. I liked the original when it first came out so I got some feels for it.

I remember seeing Toy Story 2 in a theater on its opening Friday. There weren't many people watching; the build-up had been very small, since Disney was originally going to release it directly to video. Mostly people were wary about the first movie - which they adored - being ruined for them by a lackluster sequel.

When the credits rolled, people were visibly stunned; they had expected a money grab and instead got one helluva film. Lots of "wows" said out loud. I heard someone start crying at the end of When She Loved Me. (That might have been me.)

I'm one of those who still says the first is the best. TS2 is really good. Great even. But really it's hard to overcome seeing the first one in the theater opening weekend before most people know what was coming. The feeling of "holy shit this is incredible" can't be replaced or remade.
They're still 3 for 3 and sounds like 4 for 4 with me tho. Only other modern series to pull that off is Harry Potter. Maybe Back to the Future if you cut a little slack for the 3rd one.

Fuck you, Biggy, I love every single Child's Play. I LOVE the camp; I'm actually scared that they're going to do that thing they do now, where every horror movie thinks it's got to take itself seriously.

No. Fuck that. No. Horror is SUPPOSED to be snarky; there are SUPPOSED to be comedy elements. It's a fucking doll. The only reason it's scary is because there's a human person in it. Even a serial killer isn't dead serious all the time. Charles told jokes. Charles performed hokey magic spells. He also killed people. But if they try to do some kind of grimdark bullshit I'm gonna be pissed.

I wanna see clouds manifesting. I wanna hear the WHOLE ASS chant to Damballa.

That's the reason most reboots aren't well received. Because they don't understand the spirit of the original. The thing NEEDS to be hokey. You NEED to be able to see the villain as a person, because the villain is going to have to carry the series.

A great movie is a great movie. All the Toy Story flicks have had mass appeal because there is no age limit for a good story with good characters and great animation. Plus Woody and Buzz, man. I mean holy shit. Easily top 10 screen duos.
