Totally OT thingy. How do you like your chilli?

So I'm sitting here tonight, IM ing with a friend, discussing dinner options. I told her I was having chillie, with sour cream, shredded cheese and diced onions on top. Her response was "Fuckin' Canadians messin' with good old 'Murrican chilli! You don't put sour cream on it!"

So now I'm wondering. What does everyone like on their chilli?

I don't use sour cream as a rule, but it can tone the spiciness down if need be.

Onions, hmm. Never thought of that.

I've never used crackers. I will use corn chips, or tortillas or the like. Also, I like adding diced capsicum, and I cook onions as part of the chilli. I wouldn't put onions on the top though.

Also, throw the cheese on top, sprinkle over some paprika, then grill to get melted cheese.

I like mine with cheese and crackers. Now my hubby is the pickiest person alive when it comes to chili, he wont' eat it if it has beans in it. He only likes meat only chilli, and he wants it with frito's and cheese. And only Velveeta Cheese. *rolls eyes*

Plain old nekkid chilli for me.
No beans or anything else, just pure chilli the way it's meant to be.

You can have the beans, cheese, sour cream, on the side if you like, but don't mess with the chilli.

Being a good ole'Texas farm boy and growing up on chili, I like it with sour cream, shredded sharp chedder, onions, and a couple of jalepeno's on the side for good measure. Crackers and stuff are not for me. A good ole' hunk of sourdough bead and a ice cold beer make it perfect. And chili with no beans is not chili but hot dog topping.

one other thing...with peanut butter sandwiches on the side! Until I moved to Indiana, I had never heard of this, but I guess around these part you eat your chili with PB sandwiches and dip the sandwich in the chili...I doubted it until I tried it, and it is GOOOD!
