I'd love to see one up close.

I've seen many, it's the joy of living in Michigan. They are pretty cool as long as it's not you against the tornado. I watched one form once. And I've actually seen the sky turn pea green.

I usually head outside and watch because I hate basements but this storm system has had too much hail.

Toto and Toto Jr. are lying on the floor at my feet panting. Not happy puppies.

No Oz yet, I promised my little sister I would be okay. She's such a worrier.

Tornados scare the living shit out of me.. .but I love the green sky and the sound of hail on the neighbors roof

A couple of years ago there was a freak tornado in England -- they're extremely rare here. But I regularly watch the bathwater drain, which I guess is a similar experience.

I watched three tornados hit down in New York while watching across from a huge lake in Canada. It was unbelievable.

Take Care!

Enough of this Judy Garland crap!

Tightrope

by

(Stevie Ray Vaughan)

Caught up in a whirlwind, can't catch my breath.
Knee deep in hot water, broke out in cold sweat.
Can't catch a turtle, in this rat race.
Feels like I'm losing ground, at a breakneck pace.

Afraid of my own shadow, in the face of grace.
Heart full of darkness, spotlight on my face.
There was love all around me, but I was looking for revenge.
Thank God it never found me, would have been the end.

Walkin' the tight rope, steppin on my friends
Walkin' the tight rope, was a shame and a sin.
Walkin' the tight rope, between wrong and right.
Walkin' the tight rope, both day and night. (Solo)

Lookin' back in front of me, in the mirror's grin.
Through eyes of love I see, I'm really lookin at a friend
We've had all our problems, that's the way life is.
My heart goes out to others, who are there to make amends

I hope you're alright!

I understand that they are common in the Midwestern U.S. because it's the only place in the world (northern hemisphere anyway) where no mountain range lies between the pole and tropics. Titanic forces crash together there, bringing the region closer to Oz.

Yep. We're in tornado row. Applebiter, The Fool, blackhaus7, me - any other Kansans I missed?

Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas states get nailed often, as well. It sucks.

That's why Nebraska is such an exciting place to live.

You wouldn't believe the sky, it's so black it looks like midnight, the rain is coming down so hard I can't see my neighbor's house next door. The wind is blowing and whistling and hail, huge about an inch wide is hitting the ground so hard I can see it bouncing about a foot in the air. Anybody up for a walk in the rain?

Okay all, it's getting really bad again, I'm unplugging the computer to keep it safe. Be back later.

I think I met that guy in Omaha.

Quite a few of 'em hang out in Lincoln, too.

Do you know my favorite Nebraska joke? I always share this with my pastor - he's a Nebraska graduate.

"What does the 'N' on the Nebraska uniform stand for?"

"Knowledge."

That make me laugh. Ow.

scary. makes me think my ancestors were very smart to settle at a place that has no tornados, no earth quakes, no poisonous animals, etc.
