Not really sure what you'd do with the idea, but the outline is this. A girl gets invited by her friend to a tapas potluck. She shows at the house with her dish, only to discover once she's inside that she misheard her friend, and instead of a tapas potluck, it's a topless potluck.

Based on the opposite happening to me. I thought my friend was inviting me to a topless party, and for a minute, I was really, really excited.

LOL!!! I've actually heard this somewhere before - was this an old thread? sounds like something sirhugs would come up with - but I think the opposite - a girl showing up topless to a tapas party...

Yeah - a traditional couples party. The men bring the women, and the women bring the food. In covered casseroles. Then the ritual unveiling, where the women take the tops of their dishes for all to enjoy and then the men take the tops of their "dishes" for all to enjoy as well.

Definitely a fun idea... I've actually had a few problems with tapas/topless, like the time I told my mom I went to a tapas bar...

I'm trying to decide which confusion I prefer: the topless girl showing up at a tapas party, or the tapas girl showing up a topless party. One topless girl would be pretty hot on her own; and she'd definitely be the life of the party.

Maybe I should verbally invite a bunch of female friends to a tapas party and see what happens...

the conflict arises from the original idea of the confusion about the invitation.... first, the discomfort at being topless, then liking the attention, then jealously from other spouses...

That's my problem, too. She shows up topless, and... Or everyone else is topless, and...

I suppose there can be jealousy if she's the topless one, but then just have her cover up. It's not like a house wouldn't have an extra shirt in it. Something has to prevent her from getting a covering. Perhaps a tapas picnic instead, at the beach, or in Central Park? It'd be harder for her to get covered up if they were outside. Perhaps a jealous wife bares it all, too, to keep her husband's eyes on her, and you end up with a chain reaction of toplessness. But even then, where do you stop telling the story? Everyone is topless, and...? There's still no impetus to a climax, either in the story or in someone's pants.

If she's the only non-topless one, then she'll probably be encouraged to try it out with everyone else, and then... Maybe a crush of hers arrive, having misheard the same thing, and holding a plate of tapas when suddenly he sees her bare breasts jiggling around. But again, it's not necessarily a situation that has a climax... I think, if I do anything with it, it'll need to be a scene in a larger story.

If you go with the it was a topless party angle you dont have to have everyone topless, its more of an invitation to be "free" if a lady so chooses. You could play with the peer pressure angles and also how various members of the group transition from "no way" to "well okay" And even have a few others have the same confusion about tapas v. topless. (it can make a hell of an icebreaker for people (imagine how better youd feel if you werent the only one who misheard) Maybe this even leads to bonding over throwing caution to the wind.

And work with all the wonderful variations of women (and therefor breasts) there are. Maybe the real women of the group fear 20 something w/implants is going to be belle of the ball but the guys tire of her quickly. Hell it could become a self esteem pep rally for all the shapes sizes and colors of the world if you want.

The heard topless but actually tapas seems tricker as youve said. Somebody's going to find a way to cover or just asked to be taken home rather than push the social boundary and walk around topless solo in front of all their friends/neighbors.

I still think a communal some heard topless/some heard tapas works far better as you have peer groups for each side and some "come join our team" possibilities as well as "self discovery". With the actual event being topless, some are prepared for that,expecting it,looking forward to it. Adding tapas to the mix? No problemo. A tapas party breaking into a TOPLESS party, far more difficult to pull off realistically.

I thought of an angle I might use: a boy is talking to his female friend about his lack of a girlfriend, and she offers to invite some of her friends over for him to meet at a "tapas party." It provides a reason for why something is going to happen, since he's expected to pick out a girl by the end of the night, while also providing some CMNF fun. And who knows, maybe by the end of the night, he's convinced to go naked, too.
