Nothing hard about it, the Feds just don't want you to know what kind of luxury items are being bought with their tax money.
I grew up poor but never once did my mom use welfare and was very proud of that. We lived in Philly and used public transit. My mom worked as a seamstress in my grandfathers tailoring shop.
My mom would get so mad when we would be at the grocery store and the lady in front of us would buy shrimp and steak with food stamps while we bought hot dogs and hamburger with cash. Then she would see them climb into their new Cadillac and drive away.
The fact that 99.9 percent of the time the person was black is not material to my story.
I see it all the time in Kroger's.
when people use food stamps does it drive up the price of food for others are lower it![]()
I grew up poor as well, be we had not public transportation. We either walked or drove a crappy old car whenever we could get it to run, unless Dad was home with his truck. My mother did odd jobs at home, sometimes she babysat.I grew up poor but never once did my mom use welfare and was very proud of that. We lived in Philly and used public transit. Did you notice there are also fines for states that reveal the info.
What do you think people are buying with food stamps?
i'm gonna guess they're buying food, because that's kinda all you can buy with them.

That would be my guess. I'm sure someone will find out that .000001% bought lobster and caviar with them and that will mean the whole system is fucked.
It is more about what happens to the money once it is spent, than what can be bought with food stamps. You cannot get tobacco or alcohol products with them anymore. Unless, of course, someone has found away around that again.
Yes some people abuse the system, and I'm sure some people still sell their food stamps. But there is no way to buy anything but food, with food stamps.
This is just like drug testing for welfare recipients. It sounds good and it feel right, but it's not cost effective to the state, which you think would be paramount.
