Top Rated Story with No Erotic Content?

I'm a little confused how it can be that one of the top rated stories here has no erotic content whatsoever. It describes a meeting between a guy and a girl.

I suppose that there's nothing that says a story has to have erotic content. This is Chapter I of a longer work and I admit that's it's well-written. But can people who visit an erotic storyu site presumably to view erotic stories really like it that much?

As a relative newbie, I'd also like to know if there's anything that keeps an author from voting for their own stories.

Officially, no. You can vote for your own stories. But it's a little bit like cheating.

I don't know which story you are referring to, but I guess it's perhaps all a matter of interpretation.

As a woman, 'erotic' to me can mean anything from finger tips gently touching under soft candle light, to full on red hot sex. Now, for my other half, 'erotic' means anything from red hot full on sex to red hot full on sex.

Hmm, perhaps you were looking at the top rated listing for the Non-Erotic category?

I myself have a couple of submissions in that category... the voting hasn't been so huge in there for me, but I'm happy with being given the chance to submit them.

BTW sooner or later Laurel checks out all votes on every story (so I believe) and she would be bound to delete votes the author has him/herself entered. Perhaps one vote of that kind would sneak through, but more than one would be noticed and wiped.

Laurel won't remove a vote from the author on a story -- if the author doesn't think it deserves a vote, why should anyone else?

Laurel will definitely remove any duplicate votes from the author and in extreme cases might remove the story from consideration for any awards if an author indulges in fraudulent voting. One vote from an author is not fraud, however. It's an expression of pride.

Just a thought...if you want to complain about or give credit to a story it help to at least cite the title if not link the story

Does anyone remember Ernst Lubitsh?

He was a film director during the height (or do I mean depths) of the Hayes Commission. Back when Hollywood had to put up with seventy-eleven rules about what was, or was not, permissible in a film.

Still, Ernst Lubitsh managed to generate more sex with ideas, than most porn films today.

I don't personally find cocks, cunts, tits or fucking particualry erotic. So most of the stories here are not erotic for me, including the top stories.

Some of the stories describe a seduction or an encounter which I will find highly erotic; but reading about sexual activity or sexual organs usually doesn't do it for me at all. (With watching videos it's slightly different though).
I wonder how many other readers actually feel the same way?
